Chapter 4398
Soon, Kathleen's men brought the agitated Dorothy.
Dorothy was nervous and tense. The appearance of the strange men who had taken over the entire VIP area without a sound took her by complete surprise. She did not know what they were doing, and who they were. Her staff had all disappeared without a trace. That gave her a bad feeling, too.
However, her nervousness eased slightly the moment she saw Charlie. She asked him in a hurry, "Mr. Wade, what's going on here? Are these your men?"
Charlie glanced at Kathleen and said indifferently, "There are Miss Fox's men. I requested their help."
Dorothy was puzzled. "Did something happen?"
Charlie didn't answer her question. Instead, he asked tentatively, "Is there anyone else who knows about the Acker family's presence tonight?"
"No," Dorothy replied. "Only Quinn and I know. No one else is aware."
Then, she added nervously, "What's wrong?! Something happened, didn't it?!"
Charlie said coldly, "There was an attack on the Acker family."
"Attack?!" Dorothy's eyes widened in shock. She blurted out, "When on earth did that happen?"
She subconsciously turned to look around, and felt even more puzzled. "But Mr. Wade, it doesn't look like there was an attack here Charlie
Vel
leveled his gaze on her and continued asking, "Dorothy, I have some questions for you. When did you know that the Acker family would be coming to the concert? What did you do after you found out?"
Dorothy hurriedly explained, "Quinn received a call from Grandma Holly this morning. When she learned that they were coming for the concert, she immediately called you to inform you about it. After your confirmation, we arranged the Acker family's room next to yours." Charlie then asked, "After Quinn and you confirmed the room, did you tell anyone else about this?"
"Of course not!" Dorothy replied, aghast." We know the Acker family is important. We didn't tell anyone to ensure the highest confidentiality. In fact, neither of us told any of the staff about the expected guests. Even our most trusted assistant did not know!"
Dorothy added, "Besides, Quinn also
removed more than half of the staff who were originally assigned here to keep the Acker family's presence as confidential as possible. After all, the Acker family had their bodyguards with them. Besides, you'll be in the int room right next to them. She thought there was no need to have so many staff here. Otherwise, it'd increase the risk of information leaks."
Dorothy's eyes grew even wider. Shocked, she blurted out, "Mr. Wade... Are you suspecting that I leaked the news?"
Charlie looked at her and removed his suspicions regarding Dorothy. Based on her reaction and expression, he could tell that Dorothy wasn't guilty, nor was she lying. More importantly, Dorothy knew he was coming.
If Dorothy was the mole or the one who leaked the news, she wouldn't have leaked only the information about his grandparents. She would tell the enemy about his presence, too. After all, Charlie was the biggest variable tonight. From this alone, Charlie could be sure that Dorothy was not the mole.
With that in mind, Charlie continued to ask, "In that case, only Nana and you knew about the Acker family's assigned room, yes? Before they arrived, no one knew which room they would be assigned to, right?" "That's right!" Dorothy said firmly.
"We didn't delegate the work to net
anyone else. Besides, I personally led the Acker family into the VIP room upon their arrival. When they arrived, I didn't let any staff follow us. After the Acker family had settled in, I also deliberately reminded the staff not to come up and disturb the guests unless summoned. Of course, there's also the possibility that our staff might recognize the members of the Acker family upon their arrival... However, I can't give my guarantee on this." noveldrama
