Chapter 61
“You….” Jenna was running out of air, her face turned bright red, and her pupils gradually dilated as oxygen levels continued to
decrease.
She managed to say, “It seems…you already know where Lola is… But if you’re even a minute late, her situation will…get event more dangerous….
Jenna’s voice grew weaker, yet it resonated more loudly in Dominick’s mind.
Being even a minute late meant Lola’s situation would get even more dangerous.
She spent her days in the basement, surviving on just one meal of leftovers a day.
These words kept echoing in Dominick’s mind on repeat, and he could even almost imagine the pain Lola was enduring.
The fierceness in Dominick’s eyes was gradually replaced by worry. He suddenly felt that killing Jenna this way might be letting her off too easily.
Then, just as Jenna was about to suffocate, he suddenly let go of his grip.
Once air rushed back into her lungs, Jenna gasped greedily, struggling for breath.
Dominick’s voice sounded as if it came from the depths of hell as he said, “Don’t think I’ll let you off.
“I will still kill you, but not now. The pain you’ve inflicted on Lola, I’ll reclaim it bit by bit.
Since all of this started because of you, it’s only fitting you don’t die so easily.”
Jenna lay on the bed, barely able to catch her breath. After a while, she managed to regain control of her expression.
She then sneered. Jenna’s eyes were filled with despair, yet she still put on a brave front.
Jenna asked, “Is that so? Perhaps before I die, Layla might end up joining me in death.”
She smirked mockingly, and unbelievably, she even managed to laugh.

Dominick frowned, “Mom, I’ll have Anna bring some people over. Keep an eye on this woman, don’t let her escape, and especially
don’t let her die!”
Heather knew very well that he was eager to see Lola now.
“Don’t worry, I know what to do. You better quickly go to Willowcroft Tower’s basement,” Heather said.
Dominick looked at her intently, feeling that any words of gratitude would be too meager, and decided he would repay her slowly
over time.
Afterward, he set off for Aerionia through the night.

As soon as Dominick left, Jenna spoke calmly. “Locking me up is useless. Only I can access Willowcroft Tower’s basement.”
Anna had arrived quickly with a dozen bodyguards and tied Jenna up securely in the room.
“Don’t try any tricks,” Heather said coldly.
Facing this woman who looked exactly like Lola, Anna couldn’t bring herself to speak harshly and could only stand beside Heather quietly.
Jenna confidently said, “I’m telling the truth. Dominick can’t enter the basement without me, and Lola will still be in danger. You release me now, and in exchange, I’ll tell you how to get into the basement. How about this?”
Upon hearing that, Heather’s expression didn’t change at all, as if she were listening to a joke.
She replied, “Jenna, don’t bother. Do you think that I’m stupid enough to let you go? Stop dreaming.”
Heather decided not to waste more time with Jenna and stood up to leave.
“Fine, then let’s see if Dominick can actually find Lola!” Jenna shouted at Heather’s retreating figure.
The amusement in Jenna’s eyes grew more pronounced, and she even burst into laughter.
Upon seeing that, Anna felt a chill down her spine and rubbed her arms, asking. “Ms. Cox, does this woman have some sort of scheme? Why do I find her words so strange?
“Mr. Sinclair couldn’t really not find Mrs. Sinclair, could he?”
Heather was also unclear about Jenna’s exact schemes. She had planned to continue questioning Jenna about her motives for approaching Dominick, but before she could ask, Dominick couldn’t contain his emotions.
Now that Jenna was wary of Heather, attempting hypnosis again seemed unrealistic.
Heather sighed, “For now, all we can do is trust Dom.”
“Really? Fuck!” Ethan, who was usually gentle and refined, cursed for the first time.
Dominick had called Ethan as soon as he arrived in Aerionia. Ethan hadn’t found anything in Aerionia over the past few days and was about to return to Talondria when Dominick called.
Ethan said, “Willowcroft Tower is Jenna’s residence. All seven of us siblings have our own castle.
“The most dangerous places are often the safest. I didn’t expect that Jenna would hide Layla in her own home!”
Dominick’s patience was nearly worn thin. Over a month of worry had made this typically calm man lose his composure.
He urged, “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go now! Where is Willowcroft Tower?”
Ethan immediately opened the car door and got in. “Follow me! I’ll take you there!”

On the way there, he called many bodyguards to meet up at Willowcroft Tower.
Ethan explained, “Willowcroft Tower is located at the farthest corner of Ivory Palace. It’s quite remote, and very few people ever go
there.
“Jenna is malicious. She surely wouldn’t feel secure locking Layla directly in the castle. There must be other obstacles.”
His expression grew grave as he added, “Moreover, the basement of Willowcroft Tower is very damp. I’ve even heard Jenna keeps many snakes there, and Layla is terrified of snakes.”
Ethan’s words clutched Dominick’s heart like a curse.
Dominick couldn’t wait for another second and wanted to rescue Lola as soon as possible to take care of her.
Her life had had too many twists and turns, and Dominick couldn’t bear to see her harmed any further.
He urged, “Hurry up!”
Ethan was driving as fast as he could, but Dominick still felt it was too slow.
Dominick grumbled inwardly, “Why am I so useless? How can I let Lola be locked in a basement for a whole month? I should have realized earlier and should have come to find her sooner! The days and nights of this month have been unbearable even for me. With Lola’s mental state already fragile, can she even hold on?‘
He had long lost any sense of reason, focusing solely on the road ahead. Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
As the car turned into a secluded forest, a small castle finally came into view.
The car had barely stopped when Dominick jumped out first.
“Wait for me! Be careful of traps!” Ethan called out as he also hurried after Dominick.
But his words barely had time to settle before he froze in place.
Upon seeing the castle’s main door wide open without any signs of the lock being picked, Ethan couldn’t help but wonder if someone had been there before.
“Are you sure Jenna was locked up? She didn’t sneak out, did she?” he asked, growing more uneasy as they went further inside..
Dominick replied solemnly, “Yes, I’m sure.”
He thought, ‘Jenna was nearly strangled by me. Plus, with Heather and Anna there, Jenna shouldn’t have been able to escape.”
Ethan relied on his memory and walked from the main gate to the room farthest inside.
They encountered no obstacles along the way, and there wasn’t a single servant or guard in the castle.
“This is too strange,” Ethan said with a serious look as he surveyed the surroundings and stopped. “How could Jenna have made no preparations at all?”
