Chapter 112
Jason interlaced his fingers with Estrella’s, grinning as he introduced her, “My wife.” There was a palpable pride in his voice when he said it.
The owner’s eyes went wide with surprise. “Mr. Jason, you’re married?” After a moment’s recovery, the owner looked at them both with a warm smile. “Mrs. Nelson is quite the beauty, so elegant. You two are a perfect match.”
He quickly followed up with, “Mr. Jason, this is the first time you have brought your wife here for a meal. Don’t rush off to settle the bill later. This one’s on me for Mrs. Nelson.”
The owner sure knew how to do business. Jason patronizing his restaurant was cause for celebration. He never asked Jason to pay, as Jason was not one to take advantage. He’d long since had Drew take care of it.
At today’s enthusiastic offer, Jason chuckled, “Alright, then I’ll thank you on behalf of Estrella.”
“It’s nothing,” the owner dismissed with a wave of his hand. “It’s my pleasure to have you and your lady here.”
Walking beside Jason, Estrella glanced up at him. She couldn’t help but smile inwardly. He really did a complete turnaround. Now he openly acknowledged her status outside.
Once in the private dining room, the owner personally served their dishes. Jason, serving Estrella some food, teased, “Thanks to Ms. Estrella’s charm, we’re dining on the house.”
Estrella chuckled, “See, I told you I have influence. You better sweet-talk me more often. Her playful banter made Jason gaze at her intently, taking him back to their college day
Estrella tasted her dish and noticed Jason staring at her. “Why are you looking at me like that? Aren’t you going to eat?”
Instead of answering directly, Jason quipped, “I’m more interested in devouring you than the meal.”
Estrella laughed it off. “Alright, then. No sleep tonight. Let’s see if I can wear you out.”
They had sex in the office not long ago. Estrella mused that she had never realized before that he was so incapable of controlling himself. How did he get through the past two years?
Accepting her playful challenge, Jason simply continued to serve her more food.
After finishing their meal, Jason didn’t hesitate to sign the bill. A nod from him could bring more business to the restaurant than a single meal’s worth.
Soon after, as they started driving away, Estrella’s phone rang – a client on the other end. Being a lawyer meant being busy when others rested, as that was when clients had time Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

to think about their issues.
“Have you proceeded with the arbitration? What did HR say at the company?”
“The company says to sue however you want. Keep your contract and attendance records, and we’ll discuss the rest when we meet.”
After giving her client some instructions, Estrella hung up.
Jason glanced at her, one hand on the steering wheel. “How about joining Nelson International?” He found her work persona quite alluring, imagining her alongside him in meetings, sharing her thoughts with that same earnestness.
“You couldn’t handle me,” Estrella said nonchalantly.
Jason’s face darkened, and he pinched her chin before letting her go. His own Nelson International was grand. Could it really not compare to her firm, Justice Guardians LLP?
Shaking off the thought, Estrella gave him a sly smile, inspecting him from head to toe, with an extra glance at his lower half. “Moved from lust to love, have you?”
Jason rolled his eyes. “Flatter yourself, why don’t you?”
“Come on. It’s not like I’m going to eat you alive for liking me. Feel free to fall for me.”
If Jason truly had feelings for her, it was time for her to settle some old scores.
Estrella’s teasing prompted Jason to silence her the way he used to, by pinching her mouth shut like before. Estrella pushed his hand away and, noticing traffic was getting heavy, reclined her seat to take a nap. “Wake me when we get to the firm,” she murmured seizing the rare opportunity to rest while not driving.
Jason, seeing her asleep, turned on the car’s heater without disturbing her.
Hearing the hum of the heater, Estrella cracked open an eye, verified he had indeed turn it on, smiled faintly, and closed her eyes again.
Jason picked up his own coat from the back seat and gently placed it over her.
Around one in the afternoon, the car parked outside the firm. Estrella was still sleeping soundly, so Jason didn’t wake her. He occupied himself with his phone, occasionally glancing at her resting form.
It wasn’t long before the car window was rapped. Jason looked up, expressionless, and rolled down the window to see Logan’s face pop up, beaming. “Mr. Jason, you’re here. How about coming up to the office?”
Logan had just parked when he spotted Jason’s Maybach. Jason was a major client at Justice Guardians LLP, and seeing his car idling, Logan came over to check in.
As Logan spoke, he noticed Estrella, curled up asleep in the passenger seat. Logan’s expression shifted from shock to swift contrition as he quickly stepped in to smooth

things over for Estrella with Jason. “Mr. Jason, I’m terribly sorry about Estrella’s lapse in judgment. How could she think of resting in your car? And to waste your valuable time. Please, let me apologize on behalf of Ms. Estrella. I assure you, she meant no disrespect. It’s just her carefree nature getting the better of her.”
Even though it was common knowledge that there was some kind of unspoken things going on between Estrella and Jason, Logan recognized that as their personal business. But here at work, and as Estrella’s supervisor, Logan felt obligated to address the situation when faced with such an awkward scene.
After apologizing to Jason, Logan nudged Estrella, “Estrella, wake up. Time to get back to the grind.”
Estrella was out cold, and instead of waking up, she just rolled over and continued to sleep, a particularly long drool stretching from the corner of her mouth.
Logan was speechless at the sight. He stole a glance at Jason, who was fixated on the spectacle of Estrella’s drool. Feeling secondhand embarrassment for her, Logan offered a strained smile and explained, “She’s just so young, you know? Still hasn’t quite grasped the importance of keeping up appearances.”
If it were anyone else in Jason’s car, they’d be on their A-game, making sure they were dressed to the nines. The idea of dozing off, let alone drooling, in his presence?
Unthinkable.
