Chapter 964: He Cheated
Xander came out to see Evan on the phone, wiping his damp hair and asked, “Why, did she call you back?”
He thought it was Sacha.
Evan hung up the phone, put away his phone, and said to him, “No, she’s probably asleep by now. She spent the whole day outside, and now she’s tired and doesn’t have time to bother with me.”
Xander had a look of realization.
“No wonder you have time to come to my room. It turns out your wife doesn’t have time for you? I knew it, people like you who prioritize love over friendship, how could you have time to care about me, a single man?” Xander quipped.
Evan, “…”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
He was clearly trying to be kind, but why did he feel like he was being taken for granted?
“Tsk tsk, you being single isn’t without reason.” Evan stood up and said, “Come on, I’ll take you out to have some fun.”
Xander firmly refused, “Not going.”
“Why not?” Evan asked.
“I don’t want to.” Xander waved him off. “You hurry back to your room and don’t disturb my rest.”
Evan, “…”
He was just trying to be kind, why did he feel like he was wasting his effort now?
What kind of situation is this?
“Come and keep me company?” Evan didn’t give up and continued persuading him.
Xander shook his head, “You better go back to your wife. You’re married, I’m single, the two of us don’t mix.”
Evan sneered, “Why can’t we hang out together? I’m married, does that mean I can’t have a drink at a bar? What’s the difference between you, a single man?”
Xander sat up, eyes locked on Evan. “I can go to a bar and flirt with pretty girls, but can you?”
Evan, “…”
“You…” Evan was about to lose his temper.
Xander straightforwardly said, “There obviously is a difference, the two of us don’t mix. You go back to your room and stop bothering me.”
Evan, “…”
He walked to the bedside and kicked his leg. “Stop being a smart mouth, get up, if you’re not going, then we’re done.”
Xander pulled his leg back up onto the bed. “What, are you threatening me?”
“Yes, I am, decide if you’re going or not.”
Xander stared at Evan for several seconds, sensing that he wasn’t joking. Slowly, he got up from the bed and cautiously asked, “Are you serious?”
Evan remained silent, just staring at him, making him feel uneasy.
“Fine, I’ll go.” Xander immediately started getting dressed.
Inside, he was nervous. Did Evan take the wrong medication?
Why was everything so strange today?
As he put on his clothes, he muttered to himself, while Evan chuckled quietly.
Indeed, a stern face worked better.
Otherwise, he always thought himself to be easygoing and was being joked with.
Xander finished dressing, walked over to Evan, and asked, “Ready now?”
Evan nodded and said, “Let’s go.”
Xander followed him out of the hotel and towards the bar across the street.
Inside the bar, under the dim lights, Evan searched for Orion’s figure and quickly spotted him in a secluded corner.
Intentionally, he asked Xander, “Is that Orion over there?”
Xander followed his gaze and was shocked.
“Isn’t today his wedding night? Who’s that girl across from him?” Xander seemed to have discovered a big secret. “Could he be cheating? He just got married, didn’t he?”
