White Wolf’s Curse

Chapter 12

TREYTON

I think I have to try harder. She is blocking me. I don’t like this crap. I don’t have to work for girls’ affections. Granted that is what I hate, but still I figured I would get a little something. Then I see her flirting with Ethan. Ethan for crying out loud. He is the biggest nerd there is. I am way better than he is.

After class I make a point of putting an arm around her and pulling her close to me right in front of Ethan. He just rolls his eyes and walks off. Kelly was trying to talk to me all class, I just ignored her. I wanted class to be over so I could talk to Cass. Ethan was still talking to her at the end of class. They were talking about the classwork, so not really hot and heavy but I don’t like it.

So when I pull her into my arm, placing her body up against mine, I finally feel a sense of peace. “Do you have a question about the work?” I ask putting my mouth as close to her skin as I can get. I know I told her no kissing, but I am having a hard time right now.

“No.” Short one word answers, this is not good.

“Then what was that?” I point at Ethan.

“We were talking about maybe doing a study group later. I think Ethan is cool. I’m going to do it.” I am starting to think this is to spite me.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

“Cass, babe, I can help you out if you need it.”

“Did I ever mention to you that I was a four point O student at my old school? I don’t think I really need anyones help.” She walks out of the class, dragging me behind her because I am not letting her go.

“So, then why do you need to do a study group with Ethan?”

“Study groups make the work easier. It gets done faster. I’m going to need that if I am on the stupid cheer team.”

I smile. “Yeah, I forgot about that. I can’t wait to see you in the uniform.”

She gets silent for a moment and she looks lost in thought. “Do you think I’m pretty?”

I am shocked that she would even ask this. “I think you are hot. I am pretty sure I have made that clear.”

She shrugs. “I just know I am not like other girls. Maybe I can lighten up a little. Not be such a hard ass. It was kind of a reflex where we were before. I had to defend my family so much that I had to act like this girl that I don’t think I really am. I mean I am strong and I will fuck you up if you mess with my family. I just don’t think I am one of those girls that is just trouble you know.”

“I get it. You felt like you had to be this person, but you’re not sure if that person is really you.”

“Yeah, I don’t know what it is about living here, but I feel like I can actually start being me. Like finding myself or something. I don’t need to look like I just came from a biker bar.”

“I think you just need to do you. If you are a chick that just came from a biker bar, then so be it, but if it’s not, then that’s cool too.”

She gives me a small smile. “Thanks.”

I know I am breaking the rules but I pull her closer and kiss the top of her head. “No problem babe.”

She gives me a soft elbow to the ribs. But she smiles a little too. “You are going to be trouble. Can’t even follow the rules for a full two hours.”

“I guess I am a troublemaker. Or maybe it is you. You have me under some spell.” I wave my fingers in her face to make my point. “But seriously, you’re cool no matter what. Don’t stress the small stuff.”
