The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

25

“And everyone is true about it,” Nathan said and couched down at her height, pinching her cheeks. “You look like mini Cinderella.”

“Thank you again, Alpha. You’re handsome too.” Roselet said and kissed his cheek, leaning toward him. Nathan melted at her sweet gesture and hugged her. A part of him regretted again for kicking Ethlyn out of the pack that day. He could have accepted her pups and become the father of pups.

Breaking the hug, Nathan spoke, “Beta Zordan, your niece is such a charmer.”

“I know.” Zordan smiled, caressing her hair.

“Alpha Nathan, can I see your packhouse? It looks beautiful from the outside.” Roselet requested so that she could start looking for her mommy, who was supposed to be Alpha Nathan’s mate.

“Rose, stay with me,” Zordan said. It was a written script. So, he said, showing his fake anger.

“Let her look around, Beta Zordan. I guess that’s why she is here to enjoy herself. I will ask John to…”

“I will show her around. You can ask John to take them to my house.” Christian said, cutting him in between. He wanted to grab the opportunity to spend time with his granddaughter.

“Okay, Uncle Christian.” Nathan agreed.

“I will bring her to my home,” Christian said to Zordan, and the rest of his gang started looking at him.

‘He is Ethlyn’s father. Is there any chance that he knows Rose’s identity?’ Zordan thought.

“Okay, Zordy! I will be back after a small tour.” Roselet agreed quickly. “Come on, Grandpa Christian.” She said, grabbing his hand.

“What… what did you say?” Christian asked in surprise.

“You look like an old man, so I called you Grandpa. Is that okay with you?” Roselet asked innocently, knowing very well that he was indeed her grandfather. Calvin had shown her the footage of the CCTV camera. “If you want, I can call you UNCLE because you look just a day older than Alpha Nathan.” She offered with a smile, and turning her head toward Nathan; she winked at him. Nathan chuckled at her cute behavior while Christian laughed.

“Grand.. Grandpa, is fine with me,” Christian said, caressing her cheek. “I don’t want to be that young,” he added. “Come on; I will give you a tour of the packhouse.”

While Christian started taking her, Nathan asked, “Is she your brother’s pup?”

“Ahh. Not Exactly. I’m a single child of my parents. She is the granddaughter of my dad’s best friend, and I’m close to her father as well.” Zordan replied.

‘Why didn’t Beta Zordan tell that Rose is the daughter of his Alpha?’ Christian thought. ‘Is that because of her safety or…. They find out the truth.’

“She is really a lovely pup. For a while, I wished to have a daughter just like her.” Nathan expressed his view.

“Most of us wish the same,” Lemieux replied. “That’s why her father always suggests adopting a female pup rather than just wishing. And pups are like wet soil; they will mold in a shape in which they are given shape,” he added.

‘I can believe that Casanova Alpha has such amazing and intelligent pack members.’ Nathan thought, not knowing that they were talking about the same Casanova Alpha.

“What’s your name, dear?”Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“Rose.”

“Just Rose?” Christian questioned to confirm his doubt and found her looking here and there.

“Yes, just Rose. It’s my nickname.” She came back with a reply quickly.

“And what’s your official full name?” Christian asked.

“Why are you asking so many questions?” Roselet questioned him back.

“To know you better.”

“I’m sorry, Grandpa. But Daddy says that we shouldn’t tell everything to strangers you just met.” Roselet responded cutely. Christian chuckled at her intelligence and gave her a tour of the hour. By observing her expression, it was clear that she was looking for someone.

“Are you looking for Ethlyn, dear?” He couldn’t help but ask her directly by taking her to the top of the floor where there was no one to hear them.

“Wow!! Your pack is surrounded by so many mountains.” Roselet said, changing the topic.

“Rose!! I know you’re smart and intelligent, but it’s written on your face that you’re looking for Ethlyn, aren’t you?” Christian asked on which Roselet felt her plan was exposed. She quickly moved away from him and looked at him, narrowing her eyes.

“Now, tell me the truth. You know that I’m your grandfather, don’t you?” Christian questioned her, to which she nodded her head slowly.

He knelt down happily and wanted to hug her, but Roselet’s question was coming next. “Do… do you know that I’m your granddaughter?”

“I do. I do, dear. Give your grandpa a hug, princess.” Christian smiled and cried at the same time, opening his arms for her.

“Do you always know about it?” She questioned next in a serious tone. The smile and excitement that she had on her face previously were long gone.

“Dear…”

“That’s not the answer to my question, Grandpa.”

“I…. I knew about it.” Christian accepted, and hearing it, Roselet moved a little more away from him. “Rose, won’t you give your grandpa a hug?”

“Where were you all these years?” She asked, and tears started dwelling in her eyes. “If… if you knew, then why didn’t you ever come to meet me?” She asked another question.

Roselet took out her hanky from her purse and wiped her tears with it.
