Matthew replied curtly, "I'm here to kill you."

He was hostile to organizations from Eastoria. Nonetheless, he wanted to talk to Rhett and learn the Eastorians' true goal.

Rhett shook his head slightly. He knew Matthew must be after something else, given that he hadn't attacked right after seeing him.

He said confidently, "I'm not afraid of death. Death, to me, is like falling asleep. But if possible, I'd rather not sleep. Money can get you anything you want. Tell me, how much do you want?" Money?

Matthew slowly held up one finger.

Rhett responded with a smile, "100 thousand dollars, yes? I'll give you that. Give me your account number."

Matthew pointed to the sky, meaning "higher."

Rhett was still smiling. "100 million dollars? Alright, I'll give you 100 million dollars."

Matthew pointed up once again.

Rhett's smile vanished. "You want a billion dollars? That's far too greedy, don't you think?"

Matthew continued to point up, wanting more.

Rhett looked appalled. "You want ten billion dollars? Are you insane?"

Thinking that he had reached Rhett's limit, Matthew said, "Give me the money, and we can pretend I was never here. I'll simply turn and leave."

Rhett was hesitant. Ten billion dollars was the total expense of that location for a year. Moreover, it was the total expense of tens of departments.

As the leader, he had the authority to give Matthew the money. However, if he did so, his position would come to nothing.

When his eyes landed on Silas, he regained his confidence. Silas was worth ten billion dollars. "I'll give you the money. Ten billion dollars. After that, you must leave immediately." Matthew nodded. "As soon as I get the money, I'll go far away."

Rhett pulled out his phone. "Tell me your account number. I'll transfer the money to you right now."

Matthew told him the number. "You'd better not be up to something. I'd do anything for ten billion dollars."

Though he said that, he was astonished. He didn't expect Silas to be so important to them. He continued to observe Rhett, trying to guess what his position was.

Holding the phone, Rhett hesitated

for a moment. Then, he took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and

transferred ten billion dollars to the account Matthew had provided.

Matthew's phone chimed with a notification.

At that moment, Matthew suddenly moved, turning into a shadow as he rushed into the room and punched Rhett in the face.

Rhett flipped over and fell to the ground. A gun landed on the floor.

Matthew exhaled deeply. Being

careful had been the right course of action. Though he could have hidden by the door and left when Rhett pulled the gun out, the same couldn't be said for Silas. en

He patted Rhett down and found nothing else.

Then, he untied the rope around Silas, bound Rhett, and woke him up with a kick.

Rhett awakened in pain. When he saw Matthew, he fumed, "You fucker... You didn't keep your word. I gave you the money! Why didn't you leave?"noveldrama

A forceful slap sounded, and a bloodied tooth flew out of Rhett's mouth. Blood dribbled from the corner of his mouth.

Matthew said coldly, "Why don't you show some respect?"

Rhett's eyes were filled with hatred. "Why did you lie to me? Where's your integrity?"

Matthew said indifferently, "Why would I care about that? You want me to be honest with a thief? You think you're fit to preach integrity?"

Rhett stared at Matthew in shock. He had been waiting for Matthew to lower his guard. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. He couldn't wrap his head around it.
