Tenacious Sky

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

"Class dismissed," Jason announced after the bell rang through the school. I stood and stretched

before moving out of the way to check my schedule. Next was a free period so I figured I could go back Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

to my room to unpack. Leo brushes past me and headed out the door. I said goodbye to Jason before I

walked out and tried to remember my way back to the dorms. It wasn't that hard remembering it. It was

pretty much a straight shot. I walked along the path with the many other students until I reached the

dorm building one. Going inside, I waited for the elevator.

"Is there a reason you're following me?" A curt voice interrupted my thoughts. I looked beside me to

see Leo waiting for the elevator as well. My eyes widened slightly. I didn't even realize he was there.

"Oh, I'm not following you. I didn't get a chance to unpack earlier, so I'm heading to my room," I

explained quickly. He scoffed but didn't say anything else on the matter. We both took the elevator to

the second floor and got off. The more I looked at it, the more it looked like I was following him. It got

even weirder when we both stopped at the same door: 210. He sighed before taking his hands out of

his pockets.

"Use your key if you want to prove that you're not following me," he said without even looking at me. I

fumbled getting my room key out of my pocket before I stepped around him and unlocked the door. He

brushed past me into the room with me following suit. I closed the door behind me and shuffled further

into the room.

"I-I guess we're roommates," I muttered.

"If you're going to say something, speak up. There's no use for being timid, especially in a competitive

place like this," he snapped at me and he finally turned to look at me. I found myself nodding before I

could stop myself. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose briefly.

"My name is Leo. I swim. That's all you need to know about me. I don't like a lot of noise, so don't

bother me with sounds. I keep the room clean and I expect you to do the same. Don't touch my things,

ever. Cooking is not allowed in the rooms. Don't leave anything in here that smells. I don't care if the

smell is good or bad. Keep your dirty clothes off the floor, and keep your things confined to your areas.

There, I think that about does it for the rules of the room. Any questions?" He rattled off quickly. I'd

barely spoken two words to the guy and he already seemed annoyed with me.

"Have I offended you somehow?" I asked unsurely. His eyes snapped to mine. I guess he wasn't

expecting that question.

"I don't like people, and I don't like people in my space," he answered.

"Well then can I add a rule?" I asked. He seemed curious as he crossed his arms and waited.
