Chapter 7: Old Friends
Chapter 7: Old Friends
Gabrielle
"What's your favorite color?"
"Turquoise, but on the greener side.’’
"As opposed to?"
"As opposed to on the bluer side."
Issac has been pestering me with questions the entire car tide.
We've been in the car less than ten minutes and I feel like I've shared all my secrets with him.
I understand that I am expected to spend the rest of my life with the man, but this all feels like it's moving to fast.
I mean I let the guy finger me the first time we met! All of this wouldn't be awful if I was allowed to ask him questions in return.
Every time I ask a question he either ignores me or tell me I can ask him later.
"What kind of music do you listen to?"Here goes another question.
"Enough with the questions. You don't answer mine so I wont answer yours."
I cross my arms and look straight ahead to demonstrate my seriousness.
I was absolutely not going to answer any more of his questions.
If I start letting him push me around now he always will.
I have to show early on that I am strong, even though I am human.
"Oh sweet mouse, soon you will learn demands like that wont do you any good against me.You are mine.If I ask you a question you answer it.If I tell you to do something you do it.But for now I will amuse your adorable attempt at dominance and answer some of your questions."
My attempt was not at all intended to come off as adorable.
It was supposed to be intimidating and strong.
But I can see how any human fighting a Alpha would seem silly.
It made me wonder if any human could ever intimidate a wolf, or even look strong to one.
I decide that it's not worth arguing my adorableness.
"Okay then, where does your pack live? I know a little about packs, but I've never heard of yours."
"We are about a days drive north of here.We are along the edge of the werewolf territory. So we occasionally have raids by some humans or rouges that somehow think they have a chance against the strongest pack on this side of the world. It does provide my warriors some amusement, however, so its not all bad"
I don't want to think of what kind of amusement he was referring to.
The world is divided up into multiple territories all controlled by either werewolves, witches, or vampires.
There are multiple werewolf territories around the world.
They group together mostly for protection but still fight amongst themselves sometimes.
There used to be thousands of small packs, but over time, packs began taking one another over and now there are less than a hundred world wide.
Many of them are enormous, containing tens of thousands of wolves.
Along the boarder of our pack there is free territory, its owned by no one.
I've been told the land there offers little in value and that is why not creatures have claimed it.
It's inhabitants are comprised of small illegal human settlements and rouge creatures, though mostly wolves since is is the only available land for then to seek refuge.
Some rumors have been going around for years about the rouge's joining together to form their own pack.
A lot of the werewolves here speak poorly of rouge's but I admire them.
They were the ones who were brave enough to leave their pack.
It's just unfortunate that the few bad rouge's have made all of them out to be evil creatures.
The hunters are the real issue.
Some of the humans have banded together and are working to kill off werewolves.
For whatever reason, wolves have a weakness to silver, so the humans are using it to their advantage.
Without silver hunters would never have a chance, but with it it's a much more even playing field.
"Do rouge's attack often.’ I am curious wether rouge attacks were a regular occurrence or a rare one.
Hopefully it was the latter.
Issac let's out a sigh.
That cant be good.
"Rouge attacks have been slowing down as of late, it's the hunters that are the real problem. They have been planting bombs with silver nails in them around the edge of the pack and they are going off when my guys are doing rounds."
He runs his hand through his hair.
Clearly this is a serious issue for the pack.
It seems to be bothering him alot.
"No one has gotten killed yet, but some of my best men have been seriously injured"
Wow, if some of Issac’s best men are being brought to their knees by these hunters then they must be experienced.
"What are you going to do?"
I assume Issac has a plan in place to deal with these issues.
Most Alphas do.
He should be planning counter attacks or something.
"You don't need to worry about these things. It's my job and my higher ups' jobs to worry: I shouldn't worry? My mate just tells me his pack is experiencing major hunter attacks and he dosen't want me to worry about it.
"How the hell am I not supposed to worry?"
This was ridiculous.
There was no way that I couldn't worry about this.
Issac snaps his head towards me.
"Never swear.I will not tolerate that kind of language coming out of your mouth. If you find that task difficult I'll be happy to fill your mouth with something other than vulgar words"
The sexual innuendo was clearly obvious at the end of his rather aggressive statement.
I never would of considered hell as vulgar, or even a swear word at that.
Issac clearly had an issue with any sort of even remotely foul language, but I have heard him use it a few times before.
"Okay, for one, hell is not a swear word. And two, you swear anyways so I don't see why I can't?"
I was not about to be pushed around by him. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
I was sick of these fucking wolves always telling me what to do and what to say.
For whatever reason I felt comfortable enough around Issac to confront him on this issue.
Issac has gone back to looking at the road.
But the expression on his face is a vicious one.
"We will not be discussing it further, and there will be punishment for this behavior.
If continue to question be on this issue, the punishment will only grow more severe.’ With that I shut up.
Sure, I want to express how I think that is absolute bullshit, but I also don't have a death wish.
There is always the possibility I could convince him not to punish me, or that he will forget about it completely.
I do know that if I keep fighting him he surly will not forget and I definitely don't want that to happen.
I have to pick my fights, and this is not one of them.
"So, where are we going?"
I ask excitedly, hoping to lighten the mood.
I've already asked this, but I didn't really know what else to say.
This, fortunately, makes him smile.
"I told you, mate, it's a surprise."
He has a playful tone to his voice."Don't worry, we will be there shortly.’’ Eventually we pull into this little diner of the side of the road.
Its quaint and cute.
The parking lot only has one car in it.
I don't understand why he wanted this to be a surprise.
"What was the point of not telling me?"
I ask him, slightly annoyed.
This was just such a silly thing to keep from me.
"You'll see."
He says vaguely as he pulls into a parking space.
I have to admit, I am rather curious about what all this was about.
We step out of the car and as soon as I amin reaching distance of Issac he pulls me to him and securely wraps his arm around me.
I can't help the warm feeling that floods my body.
I absolutely love being near him, and love when he is touching me.
I also can't help the warmth that floods between my legs.
God please don't let him notice.
Unfortunately my prayers were not answered.
Issac inhaled deeply before a low rumble formed in his chest.
I could feel the vibrations and it only served to deepen my sudden want for him.
His arm tightened further around my waist, his hand pressing firmly into my stomach.
"Do you like when I touch you?"
He purrs out.
His hand begins slowly sliding up and down my stomach.
Before I can decide whether or not to respond to the question, the door to the diner, which is now only a few feed in front of us, swings open.
An older lady with an apron is standing in the doorway.
She has a wide smile on her face.
"Alpha Issac! It's so good to see you!"
She knew him? "It's good to see you as well, Margret.’ Issac says, as he reluctantly lets me go and gives her a hug.
He has a wide smile on his face when he lets her go.
"Margret, this is my mate Gabrielle.
Gabrielle, this is Margret.
She used to be my nanny before she moved out here with her mate.’ Issac says, now looking at me.
I found it interesting that he had a nanny, but not surprising.
Alphas were extremely busy people, I don't know much about their daily structure, but they did a lot of work.
My Luna also seems to be very busy, constantly doing pack business or with the other women in the pack.
"Hello"
I say, smiling at the woman.
She is still smiling at me when she pulls me in for a long hug.
She lets me go and steps away.
"Well come on in!"
She says, beaming.
Margret walks into the diner, beckoning with her hand to follow.
Issac tugs me along.
"Time to see your surprise, little mouse."
