Chapter 123

There was no way out; Elise could barely think, and Markus‘ wicked laugh echoed across the room as she looked up at the monster.

“You fucking monster, I will kill you!” Elise raged; the cell rattled from her anger as she pulled on her chains and tried to shift again, but her silver chains reacted, causing an unbearable burning shock down her body. He wasn’t lying about the pain from the chains.

“You better respect the boss, you little bitch!” One of Newman’s men rushed forward, putting his hand into the cell to grab Elise, but he’d never expected her retaliation as her teeth latched harder on his hand, grappling his fingers with her teeth till they heard a grotesque crunch. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

“Arghh!” The human male screams in horror, pulling out his arm to see both his index and middle finger are missing, and Elise spits them out with a snarl. “Fucking bitch!” He cries as blood settles and sputters out.

Another man helps the wounded man out of the room as he screams curses at Elise’s name as he is taken out of the room. They all knew they needed to be careful around her because, even with chains, she was deadly.

“Now this is raw power,” Newman chuckled. “I can’t wait to make that fire in your eyes break, but it seems like I have to leave; my guests will be waiting for me, and better yet, they will join you,” Markus says with a chuckle.

“If you lay a hand on my child-” she threatens.

“You can’t do anything; better yet, check on the poor alpha who is having a hard time breathing; how the mighty have fallen; they told me my weapons will never catch a beast but look,” he chuckled, “the great Rygan Al Andras.” He says with a wicked curl to his lips…

Elise’s heart thumps in her chest, and she tries to focus on her breathing, looking for that urgent calm to unnerve her; her eyes never leave Newman’s gaze, cautious of what the monster might try.

“My guest will be arriving very soon; I mean, I still have to thank your father for helping me invade the werewolf packs, and/ another benefactor doesn’t want to be named.”

“That demon is not my father, and you both will have the same fate coming to you; you both ruined my life and took the people I love from me, and I assure you I will be the last thing you see in your death,” she utters with a guttural promise to

her tone.

“That will never happen… And oh, I know that Dexton isn’t your father; I was filled in by your many friends amid your relation to Edgar Hale; that beast took my leg twenty years ago, and I want revenge,” he says, hitting his right foot that clinked with a metal plate. “And that is just the beginning of your torture, because after their arrival there will be a show stopper,” he mutters with a wicked chuckle.

Elise watched Newman’s face from the little light from the window, his bald head that a claw line ran through, taking an eye and his lips cut from it, his only good eye filled with hatred for her kind.

She knew not even Alvira would be safe from the man’s torment, he wasn’t going to just kill Ethan but all of them; he was fooling them.

She watched his retreating figure till the iron doors were slammed shut and till she and Rygan were both left alone. She’d head whirled back to Rygan’s body, tilting his body to the side to look at the wound, his flesh throbbing and healing slowly.

She knew she needed to do something; she couldn’t lose Rygan like this too. But anytime she tried to reach for that healing power, her body burned; she couldn’t reach him through the mind link either; whatever spells were on these chains were ancient and wicked.

There was no way out of this; she felt like she couldn’t breathe; she was having a panic attack, and she skittered away from Rygan’s body, pushing herself into a corner of the wall.

With her head leaning on her knee and her arms wrapped around herself, she rocked her body back and forth in fear; she was losing confidence; she’d lost Hayden, and what good was she when she couldn’t protect her own?

The whole plan was ruined; she cried bitterly for the loss of her partner, and now Rygan’s slowly breathing, knowing he could die too. “Don’t give up; you do this; think, think, think!” She muttered to herself.

After a few minutes of that dark silence that almost consumed her, she looked up to the tiny window crack that supplied them with air. Her gaze caught a glance at a broken and cobwebbed stone from the wall, and she stood up, peering outside, where she was likely underground.

She closed her eyes, pleading with her brain to work faster and focus. She closed her eyes, searching for her wolf. “Please help me, please,” she muttered to no one in particular. For a moment it felt like it was nothing, but she feels a one–word message sent down.

*blood*

Blood? What does that mean? Her eyes widened when he recalled her blood having healing properties on its own; it was a reach but worth a try, as Elise scrambled to sit up.

With not much thought, she pushed her canine into her skin, piercing her skin with a grunt. She toppled Rygan over, pushing her blood into his lips. “Please work, please,” she begged desperately.

After a satisfied gulp from Rygan’s throat, she retracts her hands back, but nothing happens; this time she lays beside him, watching his breath rise and fall as her hand curls around his chest. “Don’t leave me too.”

Her body feels heavy one more time as she breathes in Rygan’s scent; it calms her to an extent before her eyelids feel heavy. Unbeknownst to her, the blood began to slowly take effect. Rygan’s body began healing slowly, his breath evened out, and his skin closed up until he was made whole again. It took a few hours before he gained consciousness.

He lets out a groan as he pushes himself off the floor; the cold ground sends shivers down his skin, but he feels a warmth seep into his skin; his eyes also adjust, and he sees Elise beside him.

With one caress to her cheek, she blinked slowly. The moment their gaze locked, Elsie shot up and slammed into Rygan with a whimper. Their chains crinkled from each movement, making them both sore, but Elise didn’t care. “Moons, Rhygan,” she whimpered.

Rygan returned her hug with the same urgency and yearning, burying his head into her neck. “You’re here, you’re alive… Thank you,” Elise muttered. “..Hayden… Hayden is—“

“I know… I’m sorry,” he muttered, hugging her tighter.

“We need to find a way out of here,” she says as Rygan caresses her face. “We need to find Ethan and escape.”

“Unlikely that you could escape this place,” a familiar voice that brings shivers to both their skins as they look up to see a familiar figure that comes into the light. His body language filled with cunning grace as his eyes slither to both of them and a creeping smirk stretched on his lips.

Elise feels her rage rise and walls closing in as she stares at Kaide Bedders‘ wicked eyes on them. The monster that
