My Hidden Marriage With The President

Chapter 65 Competition Between Two Men

Nathan watched him walk out, patting his chest, breathing a sigh of relief. He felt lucky to escape punishment.

He knew he had to pay the price to see his brother get jealous.

In fact, he wanted to help Caleb, but it was way too difficult.

Caleb sped up the car all the way and finally arrived at Norway Hotel by six o’clock. As soon as he entered the lobby, he bumped into Eva and Adam.

Seeing him, Adam was taken aback. The next second, he returned to normal.

“Hi, Uncle Caleb. Why are you here?” Adam asked, looking at him.

Eva looked blank when seeing Caleb show up so suddenly.

“I came to pick her up.” Eva and Adam were in gossips all the time. Although Adam was his nephew, Caleb didn’t look friendly to him at all. He proclaimed his sovereignty practically.

“Are you serious? Since when have you become so idle in Lumenstone, Uncle Caleb? You even have time to pick up Eva.”

“I am busy, but I will pick her up.”

Eva looked at Caleb in disbelief when hearing his words.

Upon hearing Caleb’s answer, Adam doubted the relationship between the two.

Why would the president of Lumenstone Group come to pick up a seemingly unimportant woman?

Although Adam was confused, he didn’t think Eva had lied to him.

“Oh, really? Just now, Eva has agreed with me on riding her home,” Adam looked at Caleb and said, stressing each syllable.

“Now, you don’t need to,” said Caleb domineeringly.

Adam looked over at Eva with a bright smile, but he said to Caleb, “You should come to pick her up earlier next time. Don’t you know there’s a line waiting to give her a ride?”

“It won’t happen.” Caleb looked at him icily. He implied that Adam wouldn’t have the chance to ride Eva home even if he didn’t pick her up.

Adam could feel that Caleb treated Eva uniquely. He could feel that Caleb had a crush on Eva when looking into Caleb’s eyes. Adam panicked. If so, he had no confidence to win against Caleb.

“Gee. You guys do enjoy chatting with each other, huh?” Eva looked at them in jest, ultimately having no idea about the battle between the two men.

Upon hearing her words, they both put away the anger as if they were not foes just now.

“Let’s go,” said Caleb.

Adam watched them leave the hotel entrance, breathing a sigh of relief. He loosened his clenched fists, feeling sweat in his palms.

Although Adam was six feet tall, he still felt that he was at the lower hand when standing with Caleb, who was six feet two. Moreover, he didn’t have Caleb’s lofty temperament. Hence, Adam tried hard to calm down when talking to him so he wouldn’t look cowardly.

Adam feared Caleb and could be frightened when seeing him, but he didn’t want to show it in his loved woman’s presence.

On the way, the atmosphere in the Rolls-Royce was weird. Neither Eva nor Caleb spoke.

Eva was still angry with Caleb for stopping her from attending some events. They still didn’t talk to each other. After returning from the amusement park, they were almost reconciled. However, Eva went out to work the following day. Then she left the villa early and returned late for a few days, so they still hadn’t been reconciled entirely.

Eva tried to speak a few times in the car, but she saw Caleb seem to be bothered with a stern look. Hence, she didn’t want to make any mistakes to annoy him and kept silent.

Caleb was still jealous because of Eva’s gossip, so he also didn’t speak.

William was overjoyed to see Eva and Caleb return home together. Sadly, he found that they hadn’t been reconciled yet.

After dinner, William insisted on playing a video game with Eva. The latter also wanted to accompany him. However, William gradually let Caleb take control of the play station, lying on Eva’s lap to encourage her.

Eva was immersed in the game and didn’t notice that Caleb was playing it with her.

“Hit him! Hit him! Hurry!”

“Come on. I’ll cover for you. Hit him!”

“Yeah! We won!” Seeing the enemy fail, Eva hugged William and pecked on his cheek.

Then she wondered who was playing the game with her since the boy was in her arms.

“Good job,” Caleb praised her, looking at her surprised face.

Eva hadn’t played the video game for a long time. She had won several rounds in a go, feeling excited. She had forgotten that they didn’t talk but show off to Caleb. “Of course. You should’ve seen my current ranking.”

Caleb smiled.

William sat on Eva’s lap, looking at the screen, giggling.

“What are you laughing at, Liam?” Eva asked him when hearing it.

William trotted to find his writing board and draw three small figures under the adults’ gazes. They were hand-in-hand with a big heart behind them.

Although William didn’t tell her who those figures were, Eva could tell they were herself, Caleb, and William with a single glimpse. She blushed.

Eva stammered, “Liam, you… you are smart. I’m going back to my room.”

Caleb looked at her with a smile, rubbing William’s hair to praise him.

After Eva forgave Caleb, there was something between them. She stayed home longer when she didn’t need to go to the set. William was the happiest to see her at home, and so was Caleb.

When Eva was idle, she would do baking at home. Sometimes, she saved pieces for Caleb or let the driver deliver them to him. Luke could evidently tell Caleb’s recent mood had become much better. Even the planning department couldn’t provide a good plan. Caleb didn’t lose his temper. Instead, he just calmly rejected it.

When Eva had been too bored when staying at home, she finally received a call from Bonnie. “Hi Bonnie, what’s up?”

Bonnie smiled and said, “I have two nice scripts for you. Come here to pick them up.”

Eva had been at home for more than a week, and she longed for going out. Hence, she answered directly, “Okay. I’ll be right there. In around forty minutes.”

As soon as she finished her words, she felt something heavy on her lap. Eva looked down, only to find that William held her leg while looking at her pitifully. He was unwilling to let her leave.

Eva hesitated for a moment and asked, “Wait a minute… Bonnie, could you please send it to me via email?”

“Eva, I hope you can come over. I want to inform you something and introduce a person to you.”

“All right. Please wait for me. I’ll be right there, Bonnie.” Eva could tell that Bonnie insisted, so she hung up the call and coaxed William. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
