Master of Medicine The Saintly Healer

Chapter 134

It was Tessa’s first time seeing Matthew burst into a fit of rage. His rage–filled eyes and deafening roar sent her backing a few steps away in fear.

But when she thought of her current predicament which was in stark contrast to Matthew’s life, she grew furious. Her company was on the brink of bankruptcy, while Matthew had ten billion dollars and Rachel at his disposal.

Not daring to say anything more to Matthew, Tessa turned to Rachel and said, “Look, Ms. Carter. Not only did he keep you in the dark about the ten billion dollars, but he also hit a woman.

“Aren’t you going to break up with a scumbag like him?”

A flicker of sympathy crossed Rachel’s face as she met Tessa’s gaze.

“You’re so pitifully dumb. Matthew was willing to go to prison in your stead, yet you chose to divorce him. You’ve lost the man who loved you most in the world. Did you think I would be as foolish as you?”

Foolish? Tessa was stunned. She’d always thought she was beautiful and smart. This was the first time someone had called her foolish in her entire life.

But as she recalled what happened in the past few days, it did make her seem quite foolish.

Matthew jammed the accelerator and sped toward the underground parking lot, stranding a dumbfounded Tessa at the entrance of Wealthwave Group.

The car swerved into the parking lot and came to a stop. Both Rachel and Matthew remained silent, and none of them got out of the car.

The silence in the car suddenly became tangible.

Rachel finally began after a while, “Do… Do you really have ten billion dollars?”

Matthew chuckled. “I think so.”

Studying his appearance earnestly, Rachel took in the details of his features and clothes. If they weren’t in a car, she might’ve seized the chance to scrutinize his feet too.

Matthew was dressed plainly, merely sporting a short–sleeve shirt and a pair of long pants. Although she couldn’t see his feet now, she remembered that he wore a pair of white sneakers this morning.

None of his clothes were branded, and he blended in perfectly with normal corporate workers. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Rachel was flabbergasted by the fact that a man like him, who quite literally had billions of dollars, was dressed so modestly. He truly was one of a kind.

There also seemed to be endless secrets to him. What kind of a person was he really?

Matthew grew flustered. “Stop leering at me.”

Why, you!” Rachel flushed. “Stop spouting nonsense.

A chuckle escaped Matthew’s lips. “Tell me once you’ve made up your mind about the treatment. I’m always available.”

Rachel’s cheeks flamed. This pervert was lusting after her body again.

She huffed. “Back then, I didn’t know you were so wealthy. I ordered you to be my chauffeur and even asked you to take my last name after we marry. Are you mad at me?”

Matthew chortled. “I’m not. I don’t feel like starting a business now, nor do I feel like working. I just wanna leech off someone. As long as you’re willing to take care of me, I’ll be more than glad.

Rachel stared at him for quite some time, seemingly trying to gauge the genuineness of his words. She noted a hint of grief and loneliness lurking deep in his eyes. If she hadn’t been staring at him intently, she wouldn’t have discovered it.

A jolt of misery suddenly shot through her. She couldn’t help but feel sad.

“Alright. I’ll take care of you.”

In a mansion, Jeffrey stood with his hands behind his back. Noting William’s grave expression, he couldn’t help but

feel intimidated.

He began, “Grandpa, it really wasn’t my fault. How could I have known Matthew was so skilled in martial arts? It was a coincidencel”

William snapped, “I’m not angry about that. I’m furious about how stupid you are!”

“He might be a formidable fighter, but couldn’t you have deployed some men with guns? He’s skilled, but he can’t possibly dodge a bullet! Why didn’t you prepare any backup plans?”

“Grandpa, you didn’t want me to make a move last time. I went against your orders and did it anyway. I was afraid that you’d find out, so I intended to keep it subtle. I’ll be more attentive next time.”

Exasperated, William chided, “Why are you always so childish? You shouldn’t be afraid of me. I’m your grandfather,

after all.

“Even if you committed a heinous crime, I’d still protect you even if the whole world is after you.
