Demi had also foolishly revealed that she had an older sister working in jewelry design. And from then on, there was no need to guess what happened next–Natasha had asked Demi a few questions, and Demi had clearly detailed everything about Shelmaine.
Once Shelmaine leamed the full story, she asked Demi, “So, you’ve been telling people that you’re my sister?”
“Dad said I should find you if I encounter any trouble in Yoln. Demi felt wronged and angry. “She lost her own things and accused me of stealing. I never took anything”
However, after checking the surveillance footage from the makeup room, it was clear that Demi had indeed taken the item. The evidence was irrefutable, or else Henry wouldn’t have brought her to the police station.
Despite the solid evidence, Demi continued to deny having taken it. She cried, “Shelmaine,
I really
didn’t steal it. Please believe me.”
The Clarke family had some standing locally. So, Demi had been raised in comfort and never had to worry about financial issues.
Shelmine was the same. Even though Andrew had divorced, he had continued to support her. It was only after she grew up that she chose to cut off contact with him.
Shelman didn’t want to get involved in Demi’s case and said, “Call your dad and let him handle this.”
“No, don’t tell Dad! If you tell him, I’m finished” Demi was clearly panicking “I came to South Haven to work during the summer without telling him. He didn’t want me to come. Mom’s sick and in the hospital too. If she finds out.”
Shelmaine reiterated, “I suggest you call your dad. You need to discuss whether or not to hire a lawyer.”
The mention of hiring a lawyer stunned Demi for a moment, and by the time she came to her senses, Shelmaine had already lett
Unexpectedly, Natasha was also at the police station for a statement and ran into Shelmaine as she was leaving.
Natasha was wearing sunglasses and was being flanked by her assistants. Naturally, she made quite an entrance, exuding an air of confidence and authority.
Natasha’s Eps curled into a smirk when she saw Shelmaine “I didn’t expect you to have a thieving sister. The elder sister steals men, and the younger sister steals diamonds.” Isabelle was displeased by this comment and said, “What nonsense are you talking about? Demi is Demi. What does that have to do with Shelly? And watch what you say!” “I’m just stating the facts. Isn’t it the truth? Natasha’s chin tilted upward, and her tone was condescending “Shelmaine, this matter isn’t over. As long as you’re in South Haven, I won’t let it go.”
Isabelle sneered, “Do you think South Haven is yours? Do you think you can control everything? Who do you think you are?”
Semaine pulled Isabelle aside and said to Natasha, “You’re so insecure. I’ve already divorced Samuel Why do you still think my presence would affect you and him?”
“It’s what you owe me,” Natasha said, getting closer to Shelmaine and removing her sunglasses. Her eyes were filled with hatred. “You took him from me for so many years. What right do you have to say anything?
“Shelmaine, let me tell you, I won’t let this go.”
Shelmine found it amusing and almost laughed out loud. However, she didn’t bother to explain herself. Instead, she said, “Samuel doesn’t love me, so you can rest easy. And 1 don’t love him either. I married him back then just to find someone. To me, he’s no different from any other man.
Shelmaine’s words were not only for Natasha but also for herself. Whether Natasha believed her or not was not her concern.
With that, Shelmaine left with Isabelle.
After leaving the police station, Shelmaine then contacted Andrew to inform him about Demi’s situation.
After the call, Isabelle couldn’t hold it back anymore and said, “How long is Natasha going to be like this? Shouldn’t you talk to Samuel directly and get him to control Natasha so that she stops harassing you?”
