I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 511

Chapter 511 Risk

Harper's words startled Angie instantly. The very idea of Harper dismantling the camera herself was fraught with worry.

Yet, it was clear that Harper left no room for doubt. She was poised for action, already searching for a chair to remove the device. Angie tried to stop Harper, who refused. "Angie, I won't put you in a difficult position. If you're uncertain, just call him and ask if he should send someone to remove it, or should I do it myself?"

Harper looked around and said indifferently, "Is there no privacy left in this villa, right? Must you monitor every step I take? Or perhaps you think I might harm my baby? You've already coerced me using Eleanor's safety. What more do you want from me?" Whether Benjamin could hear her or not, Harper seemed determined to vent the emotions she had been suppressing.

Taking a deep breath, she fixed the camera with a piercing stare as if challenging Benjamin directly.

Angie had no choice but to intervene. "Mrs. Martin, please calm down. I'll find a way. Just give me a moment."

Harper said nothing, but her resolve was clear.

Left with no other choice, Angie hurried outside to consult with the bodyguards. Almost immediately, Curtis' phone buzzed.

Curtis looked at Benjamin and said, "It's the bodyguard."

"Just answer it and do as she wishes."

Benjamin reached out and turned off the computer.

Now that Harper had discovered the camera, there was no need to continue monitoring her. Benjamin hadn't intended to monitor her like some prisoner.

His initial concern had been for the safety of the unborn child.

But that concern had faded.

Benjamin knew Harper would be the last person to harm the baby.

After all, the baby was his as much as it was hers.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

Curtis walked aside to take the call, already understanding the situation from the camera. He responded to the bodyguard directly, following Benjamin's instructions.

A few minutes later, all the surveillance cameras were removed under Harper's vigilant watch.

Harper then ascended the stairs to the balcony of her bedroom, where she sat enveloped in the gentle breeze. Despite the soothing environment, a profound sense of melancholy weighed on her.

She thought, "Benjamin, why did you guard so fiercely against me?"

In the afternoon, Frank, confined to his apartment, peered through the veiled curtains at the building across the street. Everything appeared normal, unchanged. There were no new developments on the Internet or in the media.

Frank was surprised. After much internal debate, he decided it was time to venture out.

The risk was there, but his growing unease left him unable to remain idle.

Frank tidied himself up and exited the apartment, fully aware that someone would be tailing him. There was nothing he could do about that.

He drove directly to Emery's

residence. From Emery's wife, he

learned that Emery had

video-chatted with his child earlier that morning. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, which only deepened Frank's bewilderment.

Frank thought, "If Benjamin knew everything, why didn't he take any measures against Emery?"

Frank wandered around the construction site, finding it unchanged from his last visit when he had picked up Emery. Everything was eerily the same.

Sitting in his car, Frank turned

somber. "Was I overthinking this?

Had nothing really happened?

Maybe Benjamin noticed nothing.

But why would someone be

following me?"

The discrepancies and doubts tangled in his mind, leaving Frank more bewildered than ever.

After much hesitation, he dialed Emery's number.

Keeping a wary eye on his surroundings, Frank couldn't shake the feeling that a trap might be waiting for him, but he had to take the risk. Soon, Emery answered the call.
