“May God guide you in all your endeavors and grant you success in all you set to do, I have prepared your dinner, let me go and bring it for you”. Maria brought the bowl of food she had delicately prepared for him.
After a fruitless day spent prowling the street of the town, seeking for jobs, such a delicious meal was always a welcome relief to Marco.
There was countless times she had to go without food, mainly to reserve enough for him to eat. At other times, she took it upon herself to sit in front of their doorstep, anticipating his arrival.
And when he finally arrived, she would first of all give him a hug, then touch his stomach and exclaimed: ” Oh! My Poorboy, see how your stomach has gone down like a punctured balloon, come and eat first before you think of doing anything else.”All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
However, as she prepared the table for her son that evening, not only was she apprehensive about his hungry stomach but more importantly, she was bothered about his well-being and the fact that he would go away to the city all on his own.
She wondered what was going to happen to him when she would no longer be there to provide him with his daily needs.
When he finished eating, she did not waste time in packing out the dishes.
Marco felt was her act were too humane. On so many occasions, he had made her realize that she was over pampering him.
They spent the rest of the night chatting until she became exhausted and fell asleep, Marco suffered from of insomnia, he tried in vain to sleep because his mind was busy imaging his impending life style far away in Accra the big city of Ghana.
He made tremendous attempts to focus his mind on a productive though as a very of relaxing his nerve and making himself comfortable.
This positively corresponded to his efforts to sleep as his eyes became closed in the process and he fell into a sound sleep.
Few days later, Marco was fully set to embark on his journey. He woke up as early as 4:00am and started preparation. His mother who had woken up much earlier was busy praying and after that, she began to pack his personal effect into his bag.
She was oblivious of the fact that it was just getting to 4:30am, she stopped for a while to glance at the clock, then she realized that her brain had been absorbed in too much presumptions to a length that she did not bother to observe the time she woke up from bed.
She was beginning to have a weird feeling about his journey to the city.
