CHAPTER 44- CAMPUS PRINCESS

CHAPTER 44- CAMPUS PRINCESS

Since the time Catherine was taken to her class and Ryan to his own, the boy kept on wondering if she

was doing ok there. He was so worried that he couldn't even concentrate in class, if not for his

homeschool lessons which were too advanced the the one he was learning in class he could have

been punished for not answering the questions the teacher threw at him.

When a short break was given to them Ryan dashed across the corridors to her class to make sure she

was okay. When he entered in he found he missing from her seat, he looked tensed at Jack and asked

where she was. The two boys went inside the class to find Catherine standing at a corner, hugging a

single notebook.

"Ryan!" Her saddened face brightened up as soon as she saw those two similar faces. She ran and

hugged his legs. Ryan knelt down to match her height and asked, "What is it, why are you here alone?

And where are your stuff."

Her grip on the book tightened as she confessed slowly, "They took away my belongings!"

Ryan's face turned grim when he heard his words, the temperature around him started to tense up as

he asked with a murderous tone, "What did they do?" The girl who obviously couldn't estimate the

anger bubbling up inside him confessed, "They snatched away my books, colours and even my lunch. I

could only save this notebook from being stolen away."

"It's ok, I will bring back your stuff!" Ryan cupped her cheeks before asking, "Who did this to you?" The

girl clutched his arms before taking him to a kid who was sitting there savouring a variety of snacks he Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

had stolen away from other kids. He looked bulkier and stronger than other kids, maybe that was the

reason he was bullying others this easily.

Ryan balled his fist and took a step towards the bully but was stopped by Jack, he whispered, "Do you

want to get expelled on the very first day for beating up a kid?"

"Do you want me to let him continue to bully her?" The boy asked and to this Jack replied, "No, just a

scolding would do."

The two approached the boy, Jack sat down beside him while Ryan climbed up on the desk trapping

the other side with his leg. The kid stopped eating and looked up at the two, "Yo, who are you, man?"

Jack replied signalling at Catherine, "I am that girl's elder brother and he is her future husband."

His words grabbed the attention of the rest of the kids who raised their heads and looked at the trio

talking. The boy looked up at Ryan who was staring at him with his piercing gaze cracking his knuckles.

His overbearing eyes and aura somehow lowered the boy's bravery as he spoke with a more polite

tone, "W... What is it, big brother?"

Jack smiled and asked, "We heard that you stole her stuff and bullied her. Is that true?" The boy

immediately refused, "No no, big brother. She is lying, I am a good boy... I..." He immediately stopped

when he saw Ryan lift up a pink lunch box with the name Cathey imprinted on its lid; it was a custom

made lunch box he had brought exclusively for Catherine. He swung the box in his hands and asked in

a murderous tone, "Your name is Catherine?"

"I... No... I..." The boy gulped in fear too afraid to speak anymore. Jack wrapped his arm around the

boy's shoulders and pulled his closer; smiling he whispered in his ears, "You see, that guy is

overprotective about her and messing with her is equal to challenging his authority." The boy sneaked a

glance at him to discover Ryan snipping a pencil into two still peering at him with his evil eyes.

The little boy was on the verge of crying when he said, "I... I am sorry, big brother. I will re- return

everything I took from her and won't ever go next to her."

"You sure?"

"Yes! Yes! I will also make sure no one bully her."

Jack ruffled his hair and commented, "Smart kid!" The two boys stood up but Ryan still had something

to say, he bent down and stated, "I hope I don't get any complaints anymore because next time... I

won't be just sitting and chatting. Understood?"

"Un- understand, sir!" The boy fought back his tears as he nodded positively, vowing to behave.

"Good." The boy nodded before the two walked away to Catherine and said, "It's solved. No one will

trouble you anymore."

"What did you do, Ryan?" Catherine chimed happily; she viewed the kid and his friends as bad guys,

she wondered how Ryan manages to solve it! Jack replied cheekily, "Hihi... We just had few words with

him and he understood. Isn't it, Ryan." The latter grunted before weaving a sentence in his deep voice,

"Don't worry, no one will bully you anymore."

It was almost time so the two bade to her and left for their class, when she went back to her seat after

seeing them off Catherine realised that all her belongings were neatly arranged on her seat. She was

even more surprised when the bully and his friends came forward to apologise to her. She was given

the best seat under the fan, kids even offered to help her with homework and shared their snacks with

them. Catherine was a warm and kind soul, when they treated her politely she too started to treat them

with kindness. It was soon realised that she was a rich heiress but instead of being haughty about it

she was friendly and cheerful with everyone.

Her good nature and Ryan's backing soon made her the campus princess; no matter where she went

she was treated with respect and had a special treatment to herself. Ryan also spread words that she

was his woman which spread across the students like wildfire and thus, no one dared to look up at her

or even think about bullying her as they knew the consequences would be dire.
