Chapter 5
Unice’s PoV
Late at night, the day had passed, and I hadn’t done much in the mansion; I wanted to go out but couldn’t because Ace might kill me unexpectedly.
What time is it exactly? I looked at the clock and saw that it was 7 p. m., so I stood up from my seat in the living room, holding the book I had taken from the library.
I went to the kitchen, but I heard a truck parked right in front of the gate, so I looked outside and saw Max delivering once more. What else did Ace purchase? I only see a box, and he rushes towards the door.
I was about to open the door when Ace’s hand and mine collided with each other; I grabbed his hand and backed away quickly. He let out a small laugh and opened the door.
“I’m not sure what shampoo and soap Unice uses,” Max said, which surprised me.
“Soap and shampoo? What was the purpose of your large purchase of shampoo and soap? Don’t you want to let me out then so I can choose from different brands?” I inquired to Ace, and he turned to face me.
“Isn’t this your shampoo’s brand? Isn’t this? Is that correct?” I looked at the box as Ace said this to me.
The brand I wanted wasn’t there, and Ace didn’t know me that well, so he should have asked me before buying.
“You should have asked me before you bought. You’re wasting money,” I said to Ace, causing him to drop the shampoo he was holding.
“Sell that to someone you know and then buy new brands of shampoo or just ask this woman,” Ace said, clearly frustrated; Ace he returned to his room.
“Forgive Ace. His head quickly heats up when you answer him like that,” Max said, smirking.
“Wait, don’t go first. Can you tell me what Ace’s true personality is?” I inquired to Max.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“You should question Ace; you know, he is a killer or murderer, am I right?” Max inquired to me, making me scared a bit.
“Yes, I know, and I also noticed that Ace was quick to become jealous even when we weren’t in a relationship,” I told Max, and he laughed.
“Do you know why?” Max told me, and I waited to hear what he had to say next.
“Because Ace already likes you, and he can’t stop thinking about you since he saw you. So he purchased the items you needed because he does not want you to leave the mansion,” Max told me, and I was taken aback.
“That’s not true! I’m not pretty, especially I’m not good in bed,” I told Max, and he laughed out loud.
“Ace did refer to you as petite; what do you suppose he’s thinking right now?” When Max asked, I fixed my gaze on him.
“You’re rude and disrespectful!” Once I was back inside the mansion, I sighed and slapped Max hard in his face.
I didn’t know what to do if Max wanted to make amends for hurting me as well. I didn’t mean to slap him, and he deserved it as well because what he said was impolite.
I went to my room, unsure what to do because my life here was hazardous. I couldn’t understand why the men were acting this way, and I was surprised because there was a bang outside, and I got hurried to get out of my room.
My eyes widened as I saw how enraged was Ace. Wait, did Ace witness what happened earlier? Did he notice I slapped Max? I was about to approach Ace when I noticed he was holding an AutoMag V, and it’s a gun.
“What are you doing, Ace?!” I inquired, and he gave me a concerned look holding his gun.
“Tell me! What did Max do to you?! I noticed you slapped him! So, please tell me what he did to you!” Ace said to me, and my hand trembled, and my heart raced. I saw anger in his eyes like he was ready to kill Max for what he did to me.
“Max did nothing wrong to me! He just told me something about you, and I slapped him because what he said was impolite.” I stammered, and he burst out laughing.
“I told you what I told her was rude, so she slapped my awesome face,” Max said, and Ace laughed as he dropped his gun.
I hope Max is okay; I’m worried because Ace has a gun; I thought he’d have woodsman pal. Ace approached me as he picked up his gun.
“You got scared when you saw I had my own gun?” Ace inquired to me.
“Who isn’t afraid of a gun? Just step aside, and I’ll prepare our meal,” I informed Ace and proceeded to the kitchen.
I held the knife the moment my hand trembled, but my hand was still shaking. Ace took my hand and grabbed the knife, and I was surprised.
“Your hand is trembling; you can’t split onion and garlic when you are like this,” Ace said, and my heart pounded.
I didn’t know what to think because Ace was so tall and had such a strong scent, so I left in front of him and backed away.
“If you want to cook, I don’t mind,” I told Ace, and when I looked at him, he just stared at me.
“What would you like to eat?” Ace asked me; he used not to ask me when he cooked, but now he does.
“I can eat anything,” I said to Ace, and he took some chicken, butter, and vegetables from the refrigerator.
I was watching him cook and didn’t realize I was smiling at the same time.
“Do you like me now?” What Ace asked surprised me.
“No! I’m just staring at you,” I told Ace, and I noticed he just grinned.
When Ace finished cooking, he placed it on the table, and the smell was delicious, but I had no idea what he cooked.
“What did you cook?” I asked Ace as he wiped his hand.
“Garlic butter chicken,” Ace replied, and as I tasted it, I smiled because he was delectable.
“Delicious!” I said to Ace, and I was surprised when he smiled again.
“You look happy because I cooked deliciously; the next time you will be the one to cook, your hand is shaking, and that’s the excuse for you now to cook right now,” Ace said to me, giving the water in front of me.
Ace took his food and left, leaving me here alone to eat. I was worried because he smiled when he saw how happy I was. Why does he appear to be planning something?
Is there anything Ace put in the food? But I think it’s impossible because he eats when he cooks, and I’ve tasted it before; I will be dead if he put something.
When I finished eating, I stood up to wash the dishes, glasses, spoon, and fork that I had used. When I was done washing, I wiped my hands, went to my room, and was about to return when I noticed something at the far end of this mansion.
I went there and turned around as I walked there; Ace wasn’t here, so he wouldn’t know I came here. A door appeared in the back, and when I touched the doorknob, it was open, so I didn’t keep opening it.
If I continued to open it, Ace would be heard and stopped me; I backed away and went back to my room.
“Perhaps I’ll take a shower first,” I thought to myself as I took my clothes from my cabinet.
I went outside and went to the bathroom, where I put down the pajamas that I would wear. When I finished hanging up my towel, I took off my clothes and was about to open the shower door when Ace walked in, so I yelled and blocked my towel.
“Ace! I’m going to take a bath!” I yelled, and he turned around quickly.
“How come you don’t even lock the door?” When Ace asked, my heart raced.
“I forgot my fault,” I apologized, and I was surprised when Ace turned around.
“I’m going to pee. Take a bath there,” I turned around when Ace unzipped his pants and heard him pee.
I was clutched to my chest; fortunately, my towel was nearby and quickly covered my entire body. When I heard the toilet flush and heard the door shut, thank god he came out already, I dashed to the door and locked it.
