Chasing My Ex-wife Back

Chapter 95

Chapter 95

Opening the door, Hailey threw herself at Cole, hugging him.

Cole had no idea what facilitated the warm hug but he hugged Hailey in return, placing a kiss on her forehead.

She eventually pulled away from the hug and he could see the worry in her eyes. “I was so scared. Jess said she was talking to you and then you suddenly went off. We thought you were involved in a fight.” Hailes said, with her eyes searching his body to ensure that there wasn’t any All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

form of injury.

“I’m fine, baby. Let’s go in.” Cole placed his hand on the small of Hailey’s back, then ushered her in, quietly shutting the door behind him.

“Where’s Ollie and Enzo.” He asked as they made their way through the hallway into the living room.

“They are taking a nap. I was about to take a nap too when Jessica’s call came through. Debbie left to attend to some personal stuff.”

“Could Jess be exaggerating? I was so scared.” Hailey said, stopping in her tracks and facing Cole the moment they got to the living room.

Cole heaved a deep sigh, massaging his temple. “I was almost leaving the house when Garry pulled up.”

Hailey frowned. “Same Garry? Garry Lucien?”

“Yes. He is one of Vanessa’s fuck buddies.”

Hailey frowned, staring in disbelief. “Isn’t he married with kids?”

“He said his affair with Vanessa had always been private but he loves her so much.”

“We almost got into a fight. He was accusing me of keeping Vanessa and his baby.”

“Garry is the father?”

“I thought so initially but at this point, I’m having doubts.”

“Vanessa reached out to Garry last night. She told him she owed me some money and that I was going to ruin her if she didn’t pay me back last night. She only told Garry about the baby last night too.”

“He sent her 1 million dollars and has been unable to reach her since morning. So he came for me, thinking I have the love of his life and child

with me.”

“That’s insane. The more I hear of Vanessa, the more terrified I get because of what she is capable of.”

“Yes. Fleeing is not cheap, especially when the cops are after the person. There are a lot of people to bribe to keep their mouths shut and, we all know Vanessa got a high taste. She would still want to live comfortably in her hiding place.”

“She’s so insane.”

“Very! Garry looked so disturbed to know that the cops are looking for her and that she may have used him. I mean, he was ready to get into a fight with me because of her. I made him know that I

was going to sue his ass if he ever comes close to me or any members of my family.”

“I didn’t mean to ignore Jess or make you all worry. Garry smashed my phone.” Cole took out his phone from his pocket, showing the

cracked screen.

“That asshole! Shouldn’t he verify his info before coming to your home to make accusations?” Hailey cupped Cole’s face in her hands. “Are you sure he didn’t touch you? We can press charges if you want. Did he apologize for what he did to your phone?”

“No baby. I didn’t even give him the opportunity to. I wanted to leave his sight as fast as possible. I would have fought back but my heart

went out to him because it was obvious that Vanessa used him.”

“I am not supporting him cheating on his wife but what he did was what any man would do if he loved a woman and most importantly if she was carrying his child.”

Hailes freed her hands from Cole’s face. “I would never understand Vanessa. I thought the reason why she was always on her necks was

because she wants your money. But Garry too is rich.”

“Sometimes it isn’t about the money, my love. Vanessa is greedy in all aspects. Of course, she needs to be in the midst of people who can fund her extravagant lifestyle. She is probably after you because she can’t stand you being successful and happy.”

“You know, sometimes I try to think back if there is anything I have ever done to Vanessa and Connie that made them hate me so much. It’s insane that I have never wished her evil, and yet she didn’t think twice about sending someone to end my life, ruining me and my company.”

“Do you think her mother started it all?” Cole couldn’t help but ask.

“I wouldn’t be surprised. She has hated me and my late mom since Dad married her. I feel she has a great influence on Vanessa.” Hailey shrugged. “It was expected I guess. It would be almost impossible to have good behavior with a mother like Connie.”

“Do you think Connie is aware of her daughter being involved with different men?” Hailes asked Cole.

“They are too close for them not to know what’s going on in each other’s life. It is a pity your father got involved with a lady like Connie.”

“Garry told me he and Vanessa were secret fuck buddies. We are probably the first and only set of people that are aware of this. Maybe Connie too. So if Vanessa had a way, she would be married to me and still have an affair with Garry and other men in her life.”

Hailey shook her head. She threw herself against Cole, hugging him. “You are mine. No one is going to take you away from me.”

Cole smiled, placing a deep kiss on the side of her forehead. “Yes, baby. No one’s going to take you away from me either.”

Hailey nodded against Cole’s chest. “I was so worried. We need to call Jess and let her know you are okay.”

“Sure! Sorry, you weren’t able to sleep because of me.”

Hailey pulled away from the hug, smiling, “I will forgive you if you tuck me in.”

Cole smirked, sneaking his hands around her waist. “You don’t have to go through corners to tell me what you want.”

Hailes shook her head, trying to hide her blush. “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“How long do you think the kids would be asleep for?” He asked, staring at her with so much desire in his eyes.

“An hour max.”

“What about Debbie?”

Hailey swallowed painfully before answering. “She won’t be back until evening.”

“Good, Come with me.” Cole released his hands from Hailey’s waist, grabbed her hand, and led her away from the living room.

The smile on her face slowly turned into a frown when she saw him take her in the opposite direction of her bedroom. Soon enough, Hailey found herself in the kitchen.

Cole lifted her up and made her seat on the counter. She shivered at the coldness of the marble against her body.

Cole leaned close to her, resting his hands on both sides, caging her in the middle. “You seemed disappointed.”

“Why would I be?” She feigned innocence.

“Because you thought we were going to the bedroom.”

She shook her head. “You just came back from an eventful trip. I knew you must be so tired.”

Cole chuckled. “You are terrible at lying.”

“I don’t know what you mean.”

He placed a kiss on her cheek, then made his way over to the fridge.

Hailey rolled his eyes at him. She watched as Cole reached for a glass cup and poured some fruit wine into it.

He approached her, and then took a sip of the wine.

“Did I tell you this dress looks so gorgeous on you?”
