Chapter 50
“Jeorge Milton, are you done yet?” she asked, turning her body as if struck by lightning and staring at him with starry eyes.
Her pulse grew even more erratic as she saw his slight grin.
The instructor on the podium appeared to notice the two of them at this point. “Those two kids in the back row, I don’t believe I’ve seen them before. Which class are they from?” he said as he put on his glasses and lifted his head to look at them.
He got to his feet and moved towards them.
Just as her instructor was going to step over, Ava tightened up, and Jeorge Milton grabbed her and raced out the back door.
The two of them fled at a breakneck pace, as though terrified that their instructor would catch up. They only came to a halt when they came to a tree-lined walk and remembered the image from earlier. The corners of their lips couldn’t help but raise, but the more they considered it, the more ridiculous it seemed…
The evening light shone brightly on Ava’s face, cutting through the shadows of the trees. A few withered leaves floated down and tenderly landed on her shoulders as the chilly wind blew.
That woman had a lovely grin on her face, which made his pulse race even faster. He drew her in and kissed her with one hand on her face, unable to contain his laughter…
He didn’t give her a chance to evade, and he didn’t let her think.
His kiss was so powerful that it completely obscured her…
“Ava…”
He spoke softly, his eyes lovingly.
“Hmm?”
“Ava…”
He came to a halt and murmured the name he’d given her. He then moaned as he drew her into his arms. “I simply wanted to give you a call.”
Ava felt warmth being warmly hugged by his arms at that very moment.
It’s late at night.
The car came to a halt in front of the apartment complex. He was ready to depart when he realized he couldn’t let go of her hand.
“When can you let me go?” he said quietly.
In fact, his tone conveyed a feeling of exasperation and powerlessness.Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
It seemed as if it was an irrational wish that would never come true.
She handled Goden Bran the same way…
“When will you learn to love me?” he asked himself often.
That breath was the same, and it hit her in the bottom of her heart.
She didn’t say anything as she stared at him. Jeorge Milton didn’t ask any more questions, as if he already knew she wouldn’t respond. “Go up and relax early,” he replied, a faint grin on his face.
After saying that, he leaned in and kissed her on the forehead.
This incident, in Goden Bran’s opinion, was like a thorn piercing his body and giving him misery.
His eyes clouded with rage as he stood on the second level, seeing this scenario.
Ava came into the hallway after Jeorge Milton’s car had departed, and as she climbed up the stairs, she saw Goden Bran waiting at the door.
She didn’t want to see him again, no matter how much she disliked him.
The contents of the article, as well as what he had said, struck her as phony.
How could he have uttered such things to her if it hadn’t been for an issue with his company’s stock? He must have felt she was a fool for listening to sweet talk and staying with him so the media would know how nice his family was and how lovely he was.
Ava approached with a blank look, preparing to open the door and enter the home as if she hadn’t seen anybody else.
“Did you go anywhere with him?”
“You were with him this afternoon when you didn’t answer my phone?”
“Ava Lins, didn’t I warn you not to be with him?” He grabbed her hand so hard it seemed like he was about to break her bones. She scowled in agony.
“Let go, you’re hurting me,” she replied calmly since she didn’t have the energy to protest.
Goden Bran had lost all trust in being alienated from his heart after hearing her calm tone.
When Ava was ready to enter the home, he snatched his hand away.
“Ava Lins!”
She came to a halt and refused to lift her eyes to look at him. “Is anything wrong?” she asked coldly.
“I…” His queries were strangled in his throat as a result of her icy demeanor; he opened and closed his lips but couldn’t utter anything. As he was ready to see her enter the room, her demeanor toward him became colder and colder, whilst her demeanor toward Jeorge Milton became the polar opposite.
“Ava, what did you think of what I told you last time?” he hastily said.
When Ava heard this, the corner of her lips raised into a bitter grin, which made Goden Bran’s pulse race.
He sat in quiet, waiting for a response. Her clear eyes were filled with tears of disappointment as she turned to face him, her voice soft but full of despair. “Are you still talking to me about the events of that day?”
“Goden Bran, examine your conscience and ask yourself: Are you really sincere?”
“Didn’t you say you wanted me to remain at the funeral because you had other plans?”
“When you’re upset with me, you’d push me off and say something lovely to entice me when you need me.”
” What does it mean to you that I exist in your life? ” Despite the fact that she wanted to scream, she kept her cool.
She did not confront him furiously, but instead talked sweetly of her sadness and grief.
He rushed up and held her fiercely from behind as he saw she was ready to turn around and leave. “Believe me, I have my own reasons for doing all of this,” he continued, his arms crossed in front of her chest, his voice full of shame and helplessness. “Ava, if it was merely exploiting you people, I wouldn’t need to stand here today.”
“I confess that I considered using you to preserve the firm, but there are other options for resolving the company’s issue; I did this to keep you at my side; after all, what else can I say to keep you here except Grandma?”
