Chapter 64
Trista’s pov
Thinking of the previous call.
“Trista? It’s me, Heidi! Come immediately to street number 9! That’s the park where I used to take you to play when you were very little. If I am not there later, you’ll be digging something out from under the red slide!” Her tone was a little anxious and rather scared.
After hearing the message, I didn’t see Heidi again, but I found a bag of things in the sand under the slide.
“What’s that?” asked Donald.
I took it out of my arms, black on white, “it’s Grandpa’s will”.
“The one Leonard hid?” Donald took it and said, “If you file a lawsuit, this will undoubtedly be the best evidence for you! Trista, are not you pleased?”
“Look at the back.”
He frowned slightly. “It’s blood. It seems to have just fallen on it. It’s obvious that your servant was injured shortly ”
“I don’t know.” At this point, I can only pin my hopes on Donald: “Can you help me find out where Heidi is now? Is she hurt? Is it something serious? She had turned off the phone when I called again! I am worried that she stole the will. If my family knows she did something like that, they’ll kill her alive!”
“Don’t worry, it’s on me.” He hugged me. “It’s also time to find out where the witnesses who made the will are now! Trista, give me some time and I will give you a result.”
“Thank you.”
….
Leonard’s pov
I called all the maids into the study, pointed to the safe, angrily pounded the table, and said, “Who did this? Stand out!”
Ashley came to hear the news. “Dad, what’s going on? How could things disappear?”
“Leonard, what’s going on?” Fanny came too and the scarf slipped down from the running. She quickly put it back on and asked anxiously, “Do you mean that everything in the safe has disappeared? Including the will?”
“I don’t know who stole everything with dirty hands and feet! I forgot to close the safe last night. When I looked this morning, there was no money in it! Even the will was gone!”
“Who is it?” Fanny, too, was aware of the seriousness of the matter. She looked at several servants in front of her and shouted, “Tell me the truth!”
“Madam, we really don’t know.” Several servants were so startled that they almost went down on their knees to prove their innocence.
Fanny snorted coldly, “Who else but you? Do you dare to steal everything from the safe? Today I do not know what else to do, you are out of your mind!”
“Madam! It’s really none of my business!” A maid came out and called, “Do not mention the study. I have not been all over the second whole second floor. I was in charge of hygiene in the kitchen. I do not know what’s in the study!”
“Madame, I don’t know! I did not even know there was a safe in the study!” Another maid came out to wash the white street.
“Madame, my wife just finished surgery. I just came back this morning. We do not have time to commit the crime!” Said an old servant with a trembling voice.
“It’s definitely not me, sir and madam. I didn’t steal anything!”
“I am the one who has no motive to commit the crime. We are responsible for cleaning the study every day. It’s impossible to commit a crime during working hours!”
“Yes, Madame!”
….
“Be quiet!” I said angrily, “I think you two are the most suspicious! Clean the study every day. Only you know where the safe is!”
“Wrongly, sir!”
“It seems you will not confess if I don’t use some means!” Fanny rolled up her sleeves and was about to teach them a lesson.
“Wait!” Suddenly a voice rang out.
Everyone followed the call. It was Ashley. “Dad, the Mom, did not you notice one was missing?” What did sharp-eyed Ashley find at this point?
Fanny and I looked at each other for a while, not knowing which one was missing.
Ashley asked icily, “Where’s Heidi?”
As soon as I heard that, I suddenly realized that she was missing from the crowd.
The maid in the same bedroom answered timidly, “I don’t know. Heidi did not get any rest last night, and didn’t see her at work this morning.”
It’s noon now! Not even half a person?
“Find her for me! By whatever means!!” I said with hatred.
Fanny and the others walked away, looked at me, and asked, “I can understand why she stole gold, silver, and jewelry. But why did she steal the will together? Did she want to give it to Trista?”
“Mom, have you forgotten? My sister is dead! She really has become a dead girl! Maybe Heidi’wants to steal everything to get back at us because she thinks his former owner is dead?”
“Did she steal the jewelry to run away? Did she steal the will because she knew it was important to us?” Fanny surmised.
I, too, frowned.
“Maybe it’s because it’s dark at night. She didn’t see anything. She wanted to take the gold, silver, and jewels, but she accidentally took away her will.” Ashley analyzed.
“No matter what the truth is, you have to get her back! Fight her to the death!” I was furious!
Soon the news came from the maid to look for her, and Heidi appeared in street No. 9!Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
I sent dozens of bodyguards and vowed to catch Heidi and tear her apart. “I wanted to give her a chance. Unexpectedly, after so many years, her heart is still not here. In that case, I sent her to hell to reunite her with Trista’s mother”
Heidi’s pov
I hung my head powerlessly and the blood flowed. Someone lifted my face..
Leonard, Fanny, and Ashley are sitting in front of me.
The two old servants say bitterly, “Sir, madam, Miss Ashley, she has a tight mouth, but she does not say it.”
“Fight again!”
“Wait.” Ashley stepped forward and stopped.
The sound of high heels rang out, and I opened my eyes to see Ashley slowly walk over to me. “Heidi, you are not a money-hungry man. I just want to know the truth. You have stolen so many valuable things. At least let us know the reason. For taking care of us for many years, I can let you live as long as you tell the truth.”
I gasped bitterly, “I just want…. want to avenge for Trista…. I know something is very important to you…. So I threw it into the river and you can catch it if you want!”
“Son of a bitch!” Leonard stepped forward and slapped loudly.
“Dad, do not get upset. The matter is not clearly settled yet.” Ashley looked at me again. “You just said you wanted to avenge? But her death has nothing to do with us.”
“Pah! If you didn’t save her, how could Trista be killed by the kidnappers? I heard her call for help and you all stood by!”
“When did this happen? Who did you listen to?”
“When Miss Ashley pretended to fall down the stairs and have a miscarriage!” Miss Ashley did not even tell me you had a miscarriage! Miss Ashley did not even tell me you were having a miscarriage.
“You are smart.” She smiled grimly, “You know so much that I suddenly feel like I can not keep you alive.”
“The moment I threw everything into the river, I thought I could not live!” I smiled coldly.
Never let those animals know that Miss Trista is still alive. I’ll take all the blame. For me, it is very cost-effective to trade my life for a will and let Trista take down those scoundrels! For me, it is nothing to die, but I am afraid that Trista is alone and helpless in the world!
“So you stole everything from the safe and threw it into the river just to avenge?” asked Ashley.
