Chapter 147
Chapter 147 Getting ready
"Really early, dear. I couldn't sleep, so I thought I wouldn't disturb you."
"We have to have breakfast, then we are off to Seth's
I frowned.
"Why do we go there this early?"
"Are you joking? We'll have to do Ava's makeup and hair and......."
I turned to her suddenly.
"Why does a seven-year-old girl have to wear makeup?"
She rolled her eyes.
"Oh Spencer, you know nothing about these things. I ordered a beautiful and very expensive, hand made dress for her. Not to mention every little figure skater wearing makeup, and she wants to look beautiful, as well." "Right dear, I got that."
I smiled at her, but she turned her back to me instead of smiling back, and she walked back into the house. I followed her
Sloane stayed with us yesterday, and she was already in the dining room, waiting for us. Just like her mum, she was dressed up, ready to go
We had a quiet breakfast, then Elaine pushed me to get ready. I still thought we were very early, but what could I do?
About an hour passed when we all sat in my car, and I drove to Seth's house.
When we arrived, Ava ran to us to greet us. She was outside, playing.
"Do you see Elaine? Ava is still playing."
*she has to
to come inside soon. We need to have time to get her ready." She stated.
"What do you want to do with her? Seth asked his mum while frowned.
"Ah, you are just like your father. These are womanish things, so just don't be so curious."
"A hairdresser is going to come to do my hair at half eleven, and a makeup artist is going to come a bit later to make me a real ice princess." Ava explained seriously to her father. He glanced at Leah, and just like I thought, Leah's facial expression told us clearly that was all Elaine's idea.
"Aren't you a bit too young to wear makeup?" Seth asked his daughter as he lifted her up into his arms.
"No, daddy. I'm a big girl now." She stated,
"Oh, then can you walk on your feet, please?" But the little one hugged his neck and shook her head.
"No, daddy. I have to save my energy. Ice skating is hard and titing."
We all laughed while Seth kissed her cheek. Apparently, he was the biggest fan of Awa
We walked under the tent. We sat down with a drink, and we started chatting about the gala
Ava took her tablet and watched videos. My heart ached when I saw what she was watching. She watched fan videos about Alior.
I did my best to listen to them, but I was far away many times. It didn't seem like they would have been disturbed about it, though. I only lifted my head up suddenly when they greeted Gideon and Amber. Gideon's sharp gaze kound me immediately. That was what tortured me the most presently. He hated me, and I could understand. He might not have known that, but his eyes always showed his emotions to me. Probably because he got his eyes from his mother. Elaine wore blue contact lenses, but I knew her real gaze well. Today he looked more sad than usual. I would love to speak to him, but I knew he wouldn't want to speak to me.
That whore on his side came into my family like she already belonged to it. She acted like a massive part of it, and I hated I couldn't and I couldn't kick her out of here.
She sat next to Ava, and I only hoped that the little one wouldn't say who she was watching, and how she was related to us
"Hi darling, are you excited?" Ava glanced at her only for a moment. Apparently, she hated her too.
"Not yet." She answered, but she didn't even lift her head. She just kept watching the screen. However, Amber didn't give up.
"What are you watching?"
She smiled, but still didn't look at her.
"She is the best figure skater in the world. Her name is Alice."
"Oh, can I see?"
a hold of her.
Ava only shrugged her shoulders, but what made my heart ache more is Gideon stood up immediately, as he heard the name, and he moved to Ava as well. She smiled at him.
"Gideon, you want to watch too? He looked at the little one with a smile.
"Of cou
COURSE.
"Have you seen this one yet?"
"No."
Then Ava played the video. I just realised how the others watched the scene, too. I think all of them felt sadness. Ava and Gideon were Alice's greatest fans, and only God knew where she was. "How the hell can she jump that high?"
"Ava, watch your mouth," Seth told the little one, but she was like she heard nothing.
"She has trained hard since she was four, probably that is why she can do that. In a few years, you will jump like that too."
Gideon answered.
""True." Ava admitted.
We all looked toward the housekeeper, who approached us with quick steps.Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
"Mrs. Sullivan, the hairdresser, arrived." She told Leah.
"Oh, please tell him to come in. We can get her hair done in the living room."
Little Ava stood up quickly with a smile on her face and ran to her mum. Elaine, Sloane and Leah stood up, and they just wanted to leave when Wa turned back and looked at Gideon.
She ran back to him and whispered something in his ear. Gideon visibly liked that, because it made him chuckle, and he held a close so he could whisper in her ear back. Ava grinned at him and gave him a hi five, then he ran to her mum, and they all walked back to the house. "Amber, aren't you going with them?" Gideon asked her. She smiled at him.
"No, I was far from you for a while, and I would like to stay with you." she said that with a bit of seduction in her voice, while she put her palm on Gideon's tight. Actually, she just wanted to, as Gideon hit her hand away as soon as it reached him.
She didn't like it, and she looked at me just like usual. Even if I would applaud for my son, I cleared niy
throat.
"Gideon, is this how I taught you to treat a woman?"
He looked at me with a killer gaze, and he answered nothing. The silence became awkward. Finally, Seth broke it.
Chapter 147 Gatting ready
"What is your plan after the gala?"
"Oh, I think we should celebrate
Ava's first performance. Don't you think, Gideon?"
Amber answered, of course.
"I think we should see what happens first."
He answered Seth frowned.
"What do you mean?"
Gideon shrugged his shoulders.
"I mean, she is a beginner. Anything could happen. She can fall, she can do something wrong, and she might just want to forget about it." "Gideon, doesn't matter what happens, we must celebrate it for her. To make her happy." I said. But Gideon didn't want to understand.
"Do you seriously want to celebrate if she fails? Fucking hell." He laughed.
"Why? What is your problem with that?" Seth asked with anger, obviously defending his daughter. I stood up.
"Calm down, boys." I commanded.
They both looked at me. That was another thing that made me mad. These two were always the best friends. Now, when they were in one place, I always needed to make sure they wouldn't fight.
"Seth, calm down. I didn't mean to hurt Ava. it's just... In this sport, if she wants to achieve something, you can't praise her if she fails, must understand she must work harder."
1. s. If she fi
fails, she
"oh
h Gideon, what do you know about these things?" Amber laughed, while she tried to move her hand on his tight again, but he slapped it away again.
He smiled at her.
"You are right, darling.
I know
nothing about skating." He grinned at her weirdly. That made me frown, but I didn't say a
say a word.
"I think the best is if we follow our ladies inside." I said, and they agreed. Amber wanted to stay with Gideon alone, but he made that clear with a single glance he didn't care what she wanted.
We all went inside, and we all watched how they made Ava ready for the gala.
I noticed Gideon was always on his phone, chatting with someone by text. A strange feeling told me he chatted with that girl. I let it be, as Amber listened to Ava's hairdresser, especially, because I saw him smiling a few times, which I hadn't seen for a while.
Soon another woman came, who handled Ava's makeup. They chatted about her dress, about colours, etcetera. Even if I would have tried to focus on it, I couldn't. Finally, when she was done, we had lunch.
Ava ate earlier, so she just sat with me.
"Why doesn't she eat?" Amber asked Gideon.
"She is going to perform."
"Therefore, she should eat." Amber answered.
Therefore, she shouldn't eat," Gideon answered her while rolling his eyes.
She looked at the little girl, who sat there happily, then she looked at Leah. Leah smiled at her. She heard the conversation.
"The trainer said it's better if she doesn't eat three to four hours before the show. So she ate earlier."
"This is simple. Even if you only go to the gym, you won't eat anything straight before you train." Chapter 147 Getting ready
Gideen said before he moved back a bit in his chair to check Amber's body from head to toe, then he smiled at her.
"I'm not surprised you have no clue about this. It seems like you've never been close to a gym." Then he turned back to his plate. Amber's face reddened, and she looked at me. Apparently, she expected me to defend her. "Cideon, behave."
He turned back to her, and he patted Amber's back, not gently though,
“Sorry Amber, I just remembered it's not fat on you, it's the pounds of cheap silicon implants, maybe."
