Alpha Knight’s Cursed Mate

53

NIRVANA

I tried to meditate, but I was too distracted to focus. I could hear Knight talking to Zarah on the phone. I took a deep breath again, closed my eyes, and blocked everything around me. Breathed in and breathed out.

Slowly, I challenged my mind to focus on one thing- my breathing when my mind went wandering.

“Let go,” something in my head told me. I breathed out. I thought of the pile of wood outside, the smell of earth, the dampness on the ground, and the fresh, chilly air.

I took my place there. I started to be aware of everything in the room. Tingles erupted across my skin. Something powerful force engulfed me, thrumming around me.

I felt the wind blow me, my hair flying, and my surroundings suspended like a clock stopped working, and the world stopped spinning.

My breathing seized. My heart pounded, and the brutal swiftness of motion should terrify me, but then I sensed a comfort in it in that light motion.

Then I felt the moist soil under my skin, the wood splinters on the ground, and the smell of fresh air against my face.

I sucked in a breath as I cracked my eyes open.

“Oh, my God.” I was still in the same position. The only difference this time, I did not fall on my butt. I brought myself there. “I did it!”

I laughed like crazy, even though I was outside, and my butt was about to get frostbite.

“Nirvana!”

I abruptly stopped to his urgent voice and his footsteps coming close.

“Are you okay?” His face filled with worry as he bent down to help me.

“I’m fine.” I tried hiding my smile, but it broke out.

“You’re gonna get sick.”

I grabbed the hands he offered and got up. I didn’t mind dusting my tights from the dirt. Instead, I threw myself into him and kissed him hard.

I took the gasp coming from his soft lips. When I looked at him, he was still staring at me, confused, but I saw his eyes shine, now filled with humor. Knight was so handsome. Sometimes, it hurt to look at him. His days of scruff had added more sexiness to his face.

“You did it, didn’t you?”

I nodded in delight. “But I don’t know if I could do it again.”

“All right. We’ll try to practice it. You know, it may come in handy when Zarah isn’t available to portal us.” He turned his back, bending a little. “Hop in.”

“What?”

“Come on before you freeze. You’re not wearing shoes.”

“Right.” I hopped on his back and wrapped my arms around his shoulder, making sure I wouldn’t choke him. He piggybacked me inside the cabin.

Once we got back, he put me down on my feet. “Wear something thick. Put your shoes on. Don’t forget your phone.”

“Where are you going?” Now, I was confused.

“I talked to Zarah while you meditated. I guess you already knew that.”

“What did she say?” I asked as I climbed upstairs to change into jeans. I went back to him, and he was sitting on the couch fully-clothes. “You’re done.”

“Yeah.” He got up to grab my coat and my scarf on the rack. “She said maybe it works for both of us. This morning, you didn’t teleport prematurely. Maybe it’s a start.”

“I’m still scared, but this is why we’re here, right?”

“We’re here to take a vacation. You need to clear your mind and maybe enjoy each other a little.”

“Just a little?” I teased him. I still felt him inside me, all over my skin, everywhere, all over me. This man consumed me, and he knew it. Heatwaves suddenly rippled through me.

“You completely corrupted me, Nirvana.”

I laughed- one belly laugh. “Right? You little mushy wolf.”

He strode across the room, stopped just a step before me, put the scarf around my neck, and pulled me closer. “This little mushy wolf is yours, Nirvana.”

“Damn right, you’re mine.”

He crashed his mouth into mine and kissed me savagely, tongue delved into my mouth, demanding, dominating, claiming what was his, and crossing all the wires in my brain. I shivered in excitement.

With my weakened knees, my hands gripped tightly on his arms for support, or I would fall. The kiss was exactly what I wanted at that moment-to motivate and persuade me to do this task.

I moaned helplessly into our mouths until he broke it, breathing hard. I felt lightheaded all of a sudden. Before I could take another breath, he kissed me again, soft and passionate. This time, he held my head in his hands like I was so delicate.

“Are you ready?”

I blinked off. “For what?”

“Sweetheart, you have to be serious about this.”

“Then you should not kiss me like that.” I smiled. I still felt the tingles all over my body. “Now, I ache for you, alpha.”

“Nirvana, do you want to get spanked?” He looked deep into my eyes. As the second passed, his eyes got darker, like a dark stormy forest.

“Later, alpha, and I’m going to collect.” I breathed deeply. “Where do you wanna go?”

“Don’t go far. I’m not familiar with this area.”

“Yeah, me too. Never been here before. I haven’t seen your wolf, though.”

“Yeah, you’re right. I’ll show you soon.”Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“You should probably hold onto me, but I’m scared that I might hurt you.”

“Only one way to find out.” He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer.

“Knight, this is not a joke. We can’t be reckless about this. I don’t know my limits or what could be the effect on you.” A thousand thoughts whirled in my mind, and one of them was a failure, knowing that many people depended on me.

“I know, but we have to try it, and the next time you move to another place, I may not be able to find you.”

“Okay.” I felt that force again. I didn’t feel swift motion this time, but I was hyperaware of my surroundings. Then, tendrils of wind whipped and swirled around us like a storm. In an instant, we were on the ground. It wasn’t an unstable jump or perfect, and we were still in one piece.

A flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes.

We were in a wide clearing in the forest, surrounded by tall trees covered in snow. The snow was thick above our ankles.

“Shit. It worked,” Knight said as he looked around. “Where are we?”

“I think of snow where we could throw snowballs, and it brought us here.”

“Really?” His face darkened as he sniffed the air. He wrapped his arm around me, shielding me from danger. “We’re not alone.”

He was right. I sensed more than one smell. When I looked down at my necklace, the pendant was blinking red.

“Whatever happens, save yourself, Nirvana. That’s an order.”

“No can do. We’re in this together, remember?”

“No, Nirvana. Listen to me. You brought us to a pack territory. We’re trespassing.”

“What?” My knees went weak, and my heart raced as I noticed men had just appeared from nowhere. The man at the center was tall, big, and terrifying.
