Chapter 4003
After saying that, he led Laura back to the bedroom.
Since that night, Dylan had been making regular visits to Olivia’s place.
Their interactions didn’t involve formal dates.
Instead, whenever Dylan had free time from work, he would head over to Olivia’s and take charge of the kitchen, whipping up meals for her and Leyla.
He would engage in playful activities with the little girl.
Her favorite game was tossing and chasing a ball around the house.
Eventually, Dylan started bringing Dolly, his dog, along, much to Leyla’s delight.
Although Dolly was already six years old, she was smart enough to tell that Leyla was still a baby.
Therefore, Dolly displayed remarkable gentleness towards the baby girl.
Dolly not only engaged in playful antics with Leyla but also allowed her to ride on her back.
And when exhaustion inevitably set in, they would cuddle up on the couch for a nap.
One sunny afternoon, Leyla nestled against Dylan, her innocent eyes fluttering with fatigue.
Eager for a bedtime story, she struggled to keep herself awake, her energy spent from playing with Dolly.
Eventually, her eyelids drooped, and she succumbed to sleep.
Seeing that Leyla was asleep, Dolly also decided to close her eyes and take a nap.
After putting Leyla to bed, Dylan sat on the edge of her bed, tenderly wiping away stray beads of sweat.
Leyla’s attachment to Dylan was evident as she clung to his arm, reluctant to release her hold even in her sleep.
With a soft smile, Dylan reclined beside her, cradling the sleeping child in his embrace.
Before long, Leyla had drifted off into a deep sleep.
After spending some time with Leyla, Dylan rose from the bed and sought out Olivia.
Olivia was in her study, engrossed in her comic work.
Rather than sitting at the desk, she preferred to huddle up on the sofa with her laptop.
Dylan walked over and gently set aside her laptop before expressing his worry.
“Why don’t you work at the desk? Sitting like this isn’t good for your blood circulation!”
Olivia lifted her gaze to look at him when she heard his words.
She preferred the comfort of casual attire at home, evident in her choice of black trousers and a simple white T-shirt, complemented by a shawl.
Her long black hair cascaded down her back, adding to her allure.
Dylan placed her laptop on the desk.
He then leaned in to kiss Olivia on the lips, whispering, “Back then, you would have given me a piece of your mind for such an interruption.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
But now, you are treating me with such courtesy, almost like a stranger.
”
Olivia’s response was equally soft yet carried a hint of retort.
“Well, back then, you weren’t my ex-husband either.
”
Dylan looked at her meaningfully.
