Chapter 105
Chapter 105
With a slight smile, she said, “True friends are those with whom you can share your deepest thoughts.
If something ever troubles you, don’t keep it to yourself. Share it with me and let me help carry the
burden.”
A bitter smile tugged at his lips as he dropped his hand and leaned back on the couch, rubbing his
throbbing temples. “Sorry, I think I’ve had a little too much to drink tonight.”
He had been pondering over Avery’s words, feeling a suffocating heaviness in his chest, which made
him have a few more drinks than usual. He was indeed drunk, otherwise he never would have said
those things. Aurelia dialed room service and requested some lemon. Then, she got him a glass of
warm water, “Drink this warm water first. I’ll make you a lemon tea to sober up.”
“Thanks,” he took the water from her hands.
“Friends don’t need to say thanks, remember?” She gave him a radiant smile.
Arnold couldn’t help but smile back. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
Once the lemon arrived, she cleaned it and prepared him a cup of lemon tea.
“Drink it. Remember not to take a cold shower tonight, keep your body warm.”
“Alright,” he nodded.
After he had finished his tea and was tucked in bed, she left.
Upon exiting his room, she ran into Avery who had just finished talking to their mom and was on his
way to
find her.
“Was Arno drunk?” he asked.
“A bit,” she replied as they walked to Avery’s room.
Avery whispered, “Arno seemed a bit off today. Do you think he got jealous seeing his brother take you
away?”
Aurelia swatted his head playfully, “Stop making up stories, Avery. Your matchmaking can lead to some
awkward situations.”
Avery stared at her, as if trying to see through her twinkling eyes and decipher her thoughts. “Do you
like Arno?”
Aurelia dropped her eyelids slowly.
Three years ago, when she first laid eyes on Arno, she was captivated. He was tall, handsome, smart,
and gentle with an artistic flair… He was everything she had ever dreamed of, like a prince straight out
of a fairy tale!
But he was like the wind, never settling for anyone. His heart was a mystery, elusive to all.
Moreover…
The cold voice of Leopold echoed in her ears, “Since you know he’s part of the Stirling family, you
should understand, being my wife, even in name only, means you can’t have any connection with him.”
She looked up, hiding her thoughts deep within her heart, and smirked at Avery, “Mind your own
business, kiddo. Focus on your career. I’m counting on you to make it big and bring in the big bucks.”
Avery stared at her, taken aback, “You’re only two years older than me.”
Aurelia pinched his cheek lightly, “But I am older, so to me, you’re always going to be the kid.”
He was rendered speechless, realizing she was intentionally dodging the topic.
“No matter what your relationship with Arno is, just stay away from his brother. That guy is bad news.
I’m a man, and I can tell.”
Aurelia took a sharp intake of breath, “He’s my boss. Our relationship is purely professional. I need to
get. some sleep. I’m leaving early tomorrow. Remember to check on Arno. If his stomach bothers him,
make. him some ginger tea. There’s some cleaned ginger on the table…”
After giving her instructions, she returned to her room.
Avery’s concern deepened. After all, his sister was a woman and veering off the right path could be
dangerous.
The next morning, Leopold was waiting for Aurelia in the car when Avery opened the door and hopped
in.
“Can we talk?”
Leopold glanced at him, “About what?”
“About my sister, of course.”
