Mr Grant, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 89 Be Honest With Each Other

They were seated face to face.

However, Blanca felt that Matthew had gained the upper hand in this upcoming conversation.

“What do you want to talk about?” Matthew’s finger was tapping on the table lightly. He saw Blanca answer that phone call earlier when he was entering the room

It upset Blanca so much looking at Matthew’s calm and relaxed face.

How come he was so at ease?

He was the one that was investigating her… There was nothing for her to fear though. She hadn’t done anything harmful to Matthew anyways.

Blanca sniffed and brought out a pen and paper. She was holding the pen tightly and said to Matthew with a pouting mouth, “First of all, we are in a contract marriage, and you have promised to help me find the owner of the pendant and I will help shield you away from all your unwanted admirers and pursuers. Correct?”

“Positive.”

“Which means we are in an equal position, correct?”

“Exactly.”

“Then how could you run a background investigation on me!” It felt terrible to be looked upon with suspicion. Blanca didn’t do anything wrong. But she hated the feeling of not being trusted, especially… by Matthew whom she made a deal with.

Blanca felt so stuck and sour at heart.

“I did investigate you.” Matthew didn’t seem to regret what he had done. He stood up and leaned closer to Blanca. With a powerful aura on him, Matthew approached directly. Blanca was so nervous, but Matthew started to explain calmly, “You can run an investigation on me as well.”

“I…” What the heck!Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“I” wasn’t shameless like “you”!

Blanca wanted to lash out at Matthew, but… Looking at his perfectly handsome face, somehow she couldn’t. She swallowed up her pride and anger, biting on her lips, and said a few seconds later, “I am nothing like you. I wouldn’t randomly start an investigation on anyone…”

“Then tell me what you want to know. Ask me.” Matthew suggested.

Blanca rose to her full height and smote the table. She didn’t care about this!

Matthew was a simple-minded man who never understood women’s thoughts. He must always fail to understand women properly!

“I don’t…”

“You don’t want to know?”

Faced with Matthew’s charisma attack, Blanca went instantly speechless. She didn’t realize Matthew had been leading her on. She replied, “You don’t need to investigate me. Ask me anything you would like to know about.”

“Alright. I want to know everything about you. Go ahead.”

“I…”

Blanca felt like she was trapped by Matthew somehow.

And when she told Matthew everything from which brand of milk powder she had had when she was a child, to which junior high school she had gone to, and to the reason why she had dropped out of high school, she felt deeply deceived.

She touched the tip of her nose, feeling a little bit afraid to look straight into Matthew’s eyes.

Was he turned from a fox to this life? Was there any kind of illusion trick in his eyes that could control her mind?

“OK, one last question, Blanca…”

“Stop! Stop! Stop!” Blanca finally got back to her senses – Her beautiful little face was twisted into a circle, and her fingers kept clasping her palms. She was biting on her lips, and said unwillingly, “It’s time for me to ask you. Whom does that pendant belong to?”

She had no time to mess with Matthew!

Perhaps Matthew was aware that this question would come from Blanca eventually, there appeared a shade of brief sadness in his eyes. And it was only when Blanca thought that he would not say anything else, did Mathew say in a low and sad voice, “It belongs to my mentor.”
