Chapter 401
Chapter 401
Sofia’s pov
It’s some minutes past one p.m in the afternoon and it’s not too sunny, which I’m really glad about.
Winter is already around the corner, but it’s still about a month away.
I ran the comb through my hair one more time before oiling and curling it with the heated hair curler.
I’ve always wanted to curl my hair since forever, but I never got to do it. The last time I went shopping, I
decided to get the things I’d need to do it. I’ve seen a few tutorials on the internet over and over again,
to be sure that I know what I’d be doing.
I’m currently watching one, to ensure I don’t make mistakes.
I glanced into the mirror and shook my head a little. The curls were coming out quite alright, way better
than I had anticipated it being since this is a first trial.
I’m hanging out with Angelo today, in a few hours time, and I feel very eager to do that.
This time, we wouldn’t be hanging out here in the house. We’d be going out, and I’m going to be the
one doing all the spending.
I’m not his elder sister for nothing!
The money I had made from the art exhibition is still a very unbelievable surprise for me, and I have no
idea of what to actually do with it yet.
I’m definitely going to be spending a good amount of that money on Angelo today, whether he wants
me to or not.
Whatever big sister says goes.
As I rounded up the remaining part of my hair, I considered taking a large part of that money and giving
it out to the orphanage. Kayla had suggested I do that, and the more I thought about it, the more it
sounded like a really cool idea.
A satisfied sigh slipped past my lips after regarding myself in the mirror while shaking my hair and
running my fingers through the curls. I was finally done with it and it ended up coming out way better
than I had expected.
It made me look like a completely different person. It made my face look somewhat rounder and
smaller. My hair was fuller than the average, which made the curls pop out a lot more.
I’ve got to admit that I like this look.
As I cleared up where I had messed up, rounding up as fast as I could because I needed to go do a
few things in my art room before the time for me to hang out with my brother reaches.
I was putting in a few touches to a painting commission which was a part of the pile of commissions
which I had gotten on the art exhibition day for really ridiculously high prices which my newly hired
manager back then had insisted was a perfect price, which had made me feel less bad about putting it
up.
A knock echoed on the door and a moment later, in came Armani’s, and automatically, a smile tugged
the sides of my lips. A brighter smile was on Armani’s face as he bounced into the room, shutting the
door behind him.
“How’s my favorite sister in-law doing?” He said on a sing-song as he drew even closer, making me roll
my eyes as I huffed out a fond laugh.
“I’m your only sister-in-law, Armani.” I pointed out, but the response literally flew over his head because
it was in that moment that he sort of noticed my new look, telling from the dramatic gasp that fell out of
his lips.
“You look…” He trailed off as he stopped beside me and I giggled, feeling floored by the genuine awe
on his face, combined with the smile still on his face.
“Thank you.” I gushed out, alighting the stool I had been sitting in for over five minutes. I plucked the
painting off the mantle, moving it to the side of the wall for it to dry off.
“When did you get it done? It looks so good!”
“I got it done today, all by myself. It was quite stressful but it’s worth it, and thank you once again.” I
breathed out as I repositioned a few paintings before turning back around to look at him.
“What’s up?” I inquired, and almost immediately, his smile fell a little, making me perk up.
“Nothing, really. Although, I uh, I came to talk to you.” He pushed out and I narrowed my gaze at him
suspiciously.
“You can definitely talk to me about anything.” I reminded him, like I’ve done a handful of times.
“I know.” He responded, hand reaching out to awkwardly curl around the back of his neck.
“Go on then.” I urged. Armani remained silent for a few moments, and then he puffed out a long exhale.
“So, I met someone.” He mumbled out without meeting my eyes, but I heard him just fine and an
excited sound bubbled past my lips, making the smile break out on Armani’s face once again, although
it was a little shy this time.
“You did?! That’s so amazing!” I gushed out, watching as he nodded enthusiastically.
“I’m not ready to really disclose a thing about this person yet, but I just needed you to know that I’ve
met someone, yeah.” The words were rushed, but a little louder this time and I smiled at him while
nodding my head.
“Of course, Armani! That’s very much okay. I’ll be waiting till whenever you are ready to tell me about
them.” I resssured him.
We talked for a little bit more before I asked if this person was the reason why he didn’t show up for my
art exhibition and he nodded hastily before proceeding to apologize for missing it profusely, like he has
done countless times at this point. Of course, I assured him it was okay, and it really was.
Before he left, he reminded me that my new look fits me so perfectly, and I couldn’t agree more. A
giddy feeling enveloped my entire body as I wondered what Luca’s reaction would be should he see
me in this new look right now. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
After Luca and I arrived home last night, I wasn’t sure of what I expected to happen, but one thing I’m
sure of, is that last night had ended extremely perfectly.
His touches had felt so featherlight, but sure, like you’d touch a fragile glass, not wanting it to shatter in
your hands. He undressed and bathed me, pressing thousands of kisses into every inch of my body
after laying me in the sheets which smelled strongly of me. A lot of soft praises which I had been dying
to hear from him for weeks were pouring out of his lips at every few moments, making my entire body
feel extremely tingly. At that point, my bones had felt like jelly and it had begun to feel extremely fuzzy
in my head, making it impossible for me to concentrate on anything but Luca.
And then he held me against him, stroking my hair and kissing my face, whispering about how good I
was being and how I was the most precious thing ever, until I drifted off to sleep.
It was the best sleep I had had in forever.
I also got woken up to soft kisses being littered over my cheeks and hair, making a blush fill up my
cheeks as I blinked my sleepy eyes open to stare into the clear-and-on-alert blue eyes of his.
At that moment, I said a silent prayer about wanting it to always be like this between Luca and I.
